EU is ranging, the pound is taking a nose dive while the USD is strong... If one is pro USD, why not just add more lots instead of spreading it around...

Might be better/safer to place a trade in a pair that, most times, moves in the opposite direction of the normal pair you trade rather than add positions.

Just a thought.

if i short i usually wait for a lower high and then place a trade once price closes on the bottom side of the dragon with stops above the last high.. this way i can get in as early as possible.. of course the dragon should be pointing to 4-5 o'clock or 1-2

I find that if my pending order is below the previous lows I still get in late with drawdown on my account

I'm pretty sure the new stuff is there at the beginning. Look for

hey guys.. if AU closes here for the day or lower I think it's safe to say the uptrend is over and we can expect lower prices.

this. You're just gonna have to deal with what ya got

the old system uses the same method of waves/dragon/London open/ and s&r so just trade with that for now and get more familiar with the system.

on another note has anyone read trading in the zone by mark douglas? I am thinking of getting the audiobook because I'm lazy plus I always enjoy soaking in the information without trying to fry my brain reading. it's 8 hours long

Hello Sonickers!

Just a quick question about the current situation. We had nice setups on few pairs, but it was several hours ago. Since then the market is ranging. Is there any time limit to close open orders (cause f.ex. setup is not valid anymore) or if it's better just to wait with patience for SL or TP, no matter what is happening between setup and NOW.
I know it's an individual decision of every trader, but maybe there are some guidelines to follow...

foxybunny- thanks I have plenty of time to listen to it for 8 hours haha.. it just makes it easier on my eyes and more relaxing. Also easier to re-listen to. Plus i dont think I'd be able to go through the entire book in 8 hours even if I tried haha.


artx- It's not recommended to trade during the asian session. Please trade LO as it offers the most liquidity out of any other session.
From my last few months trading I've noticed I've lost pips during asian session that I gained in the previous london session.. It's going to be a part of my trading plan to stay away from trading until the london open.

but that is exactly my question - trades were open during London session yesterday, but since then the market is ranging, no SL or TP hit... should I wait or close and re-open if there is a new signal after LO

Yesterday EURUSD was ranging so much and seems like if you would have taken many trades you would have hit SL most of the time. Tah, you basically didn't trade eurusd and was trading aud, chf, gbp, etc that did have moves. Sometimes I see eurusd trending and gbp not and you don't trade gbp then.

How do we get better at picking out which one to trade at the right times? You might end up trading and hitting SL a few times before you notice it's ranging, but you seemed to avoid this as well.

Anyone else avoid eurusd yesterday and was trading the other markets? How did you pick them out early enough to not hit many SLs?
