I do not get it. Why would anybody lend additional money to a bankrupt country? Greece is not the only one. Spain, Portugal and other will follow. This is a systemic problem.

I agree that is why most people feel it is just a matter of time until things fall apart regardless of what news comes out

Two years ago if greece would have defaulted it would have contaminated also other countries.

WHat they have done is letting bank etc sell there assets they have in the Piggs counties.

ALso the iggs counties have also taken some heavy austartie measurments to the change that they would have to default is alot smaller now then 6M 1Y or 2Y's ago.

I personally see greece going for a default after the elections and then leaving the EZ and buy the time we EZ has bought with lending Greece the money they have avioded (we all hope) the end of the Euro(for now).
Greece is only 2% of the EZ economy and has hardy anything of value left in an econimic way except for its tourism.

This all sucks for the Greece citizions but will most likely save the EZ.

When do you consider the gap to have "filled"? When the price goes down to the price before the gap?

Good point Askandia. I would say they lend money to bankrupt countries because they create it out of thin air, and they bear no responsibility.

from close last fri till open sun afternoon price is so different it created a gap in the charts. traders when talking about gap filling they are making reference to the price coming back to the fri close to fill the gap.

Why "the gap" has to be filled?
It's another newbies myth to believe in a right holy grail system...
Gap is a gap, it happens often after weekend when your broker "opens" late when other brokers are already trading.
Nothing to be so excited.

Looking at the forex markets i keep wondering how euro can be up when an armada of warships floats around it, nobody sells oil to europe anymore and half of the countries are broke.

before goes up again will see a slow move down (50-70 pips till .3185)
