EU already printing lower highs. If this follows until london session I'm gonna look for shorts

I'm currently looking at GJ if the dragon can turn upwards towards 1-2 o'clock then it will have my interest.

Of course sonic recommends not to trade the asian session but I have found this pair to move quite well during asia.. will be taken with a tight sl if I open a position. Dragon direction doesnt have me quite convinced though as of yet.

Market Comment:

Still several hours away from LO and USD pairs seem to have settled down, even flatlined in some cases. It is as though the poverty striken asian session big shots have blown their wad trying to drive prices against USD as much as they could afford to, while accumulating pro-USD positions.

Guess they figured they spent enough money already, and don't want to spend more to keep the anti-USD pressure up. And, probably they realize the London session big wigs have it all over them as far as ability to drive prices. So, they might as well sit back now and wait for those London session big shots to resume the anti-USD pressure. That way they can resume collecting pro-USD positions as the London session big shots blow some of their money on another anti-USD push for the same reason.

Moral of story- Why spend all of your money when you can wait for someone richer to start spending some of theirs!

please note today is a us bank holiday.. I dont expect any major moves to be happening during new york. Possibly london open we'll see

eyes are on audusd for now.. will wait and see if theres enough activity to place a short.

Market Comment:

Yes, the US session today coincides with a bank holiday, and many times that translates into light US BBs trading. So, it reduces considerably the odds for a US whipsaw. Still, the London session traders might make a move today. If they do, then the odds are any US BBs at the table are not going to do anything but go along with it.

But, this is pure speculation. We just have to wait and see what happens. Specifically regarding EU, if the market doesn't put in a higher high, odds increase for a short today. If the market does put in a higher high, if it is followed by increased trading, then the odds for a short get even higher, but likely not for a setup until tomorrow.

I ask myself, if the market has been strategizing over recent past, what with continuing positive USD releases, to continue to hike the price for awhile to get more longs to commit while the market builds short, then when is the market going to spring the trap? Certainly not today, right? I mean, the US BBs are surely going to partake of these most recent highs tomorrow. So why would the market today do anything but continue to take what advantage of these highs they can, not rock the boat, and wait for tomorrow when all the major players are at the table. In fact, the next bout of EUR and USD high impact releases are not until Wednesday. So maybe we'll see little in the way of big moves until then.

But, that too is speculation. Bottom line is we wait each day during the London session and see what develops. If there is a Sonic R. setup, maybe we trade it. And maybe these other considerations come more into play regarding our expectations for setting TPs. Furthermore, a short today would be considered a counter-trend trade; even more reason to be picky about the setup and conservative about TPs.
