i c but that doesnt add up to a long term equity gain best traders have some sort of runner trades over a long time. Wouldnt u wanna have a carry trade scalp that lasts 3 yrs? why not scalp in directiom to avoid statistically higher chance of a loss?

But you must realize that each trader is different and part of one's learning curve is finding something that suits oneself.

No your right and your wrong, in order to be successful you have to let your winners run and cut your losers short. Now imagine your risking 2% per trader on scalps, and you let it run, do the math on a year long swap trade. If you are hinting your trades with the trend, chances are you might get lucky with big money pushing your trade at the right time and you let it ride, kind of like what ppl did when UJ was at its low. Look at EJ/GJ now flying like a kite.

Most of your scalps will be TP'd short but if you are in the right direction you will hit those homeruns which will offset any loss you ever had.
