Current weakness attributable to comments from Big Fat Greek Fin Min Venizelos comments not Kings...

Outstanding Portuguese bonds results should be supportive even though looks like range breakout threatens.

Indeed. Would make sense. And on the other hand it is said that China can't switch their dollars to euros as long as they have Yuan pegged. They must absorb all dollars to hold their peg.
Ignored
Why ? Having excess USD coming in from exports means the opposite- that they can afford to convert a lot more USD to something else than they otherwise could.

After they absorb the dollars to maintain their currency undervalued they can convert it to anything else without hurting their peg.

I don't know. I just have read it somewhere. The Yuan get to much appreciation or something. Maybe they must tight their credit market if they get rid of dollars?

I doubt their local enterprises are taking a lot of USD loans. And if you consider the swap lines China set up with countries all over the world you've gotta figure they hold too much useless USD that is needlessly supporting the US economy. They havent increased those reserves in a while. I dont think it'll be long until they begin shrinking them.

I'm sure you're right. But I'm also sure China doesnt intend to fully pay for increasing the purchasing power of europeans. Otherwise they might as well do the consumption themselves.
