Big E has mentioned that he trades around 8 pairs but some advice to noobs is you concentrate on a few pairs.
even 1 pair will do the job.
once you have mastered the system and done enough back testing then opening new pairs will be fine....

The best way to back test is to manually back test as this will give you the comfort or what to expect more or less when you get a cross on TDI.
Use the F12 key to move charts 1 candle at a time.

Because you dont only want results you want that experience and feel for the system, whether or not it suits your trading style etc

Newbie questions from backtesting:


1. I open position based on TDI cross and then I get pullback candle. What should I do?

Notification:
First of the two marked blue bars is the one that closes at the open of London.

Glad to see you holding it all together - I still watch the TMS thread and it still holds true as an extremely valid trading approach. Most questions can be answered by using the search tool in this thread as so much was covered by Big E and his training charts are priceless.

I think between our respective threads we should have all the bases covered

The pullback candle wasnt something that was part of this thread
If you look at your TDI you will see that the Green TDI line bounced off the market base line (yellow line) this usually happens often so if i go long and see the TDI do that i would exit the trade and then trade the downward cross of the TDI.
Always trade with the trend to last a long time in the forex game.

X-Man, anybody, do you know where I can find the version of TDI with the market base line included? I've looked through 40 pages of attachments and can't see which one has it or is it an additional attachment?

just try change in custom indicator

Im currently using this TDI.
the market base line is simple you just go to custom indicator and change the colors thats how you would see it

after a good Asian session (22.00 UK) with AUD/U +50 pips I was then hit by two losses in E/U and U/CHF at 06.00 UK today for -40 and -35 pips! Net down -25 pips.

Hi everyone

This is my first post here, since starting to demo the system in the past two weeks. Thanks for the great input.

I have observed that (in this case) the TDI line updates and changes its angle after I return to H4, having moved between TFs.

Does one ignore it, even if it hooks or flattens, until it changes with the new candle opening or can/should one do what it indicates at that point in time?

i try not to trade both the eurusd and usdchf.. trade one for twice as much. jusy my idea ......have a great day...

Hello all!

This is my first post on Forex Factory, but I've been watching from afar for quite some time. I've made my way through the first 50 or so pages of this thread, and have been testing the system. I very much like what I see! However, I do seem to be having one issue. I noticed that when I was viewing the chart on one time frame (Let's say H4), if I switched to another time frame, then went straight back to the H4, the positiong of the TDI will sometimes change. On a number of occasions, it has been quite a large change, to the point where a previously flat line became quite a distinct crossover. I actually tested this further by opening two windows of the same pair, then kept one on a single time frame, whilst flicking between two time frames on the other. Sure enough, the window that I was using to flick between times never came back to being the same as the one I left on an H1 or H4 setting. Is this normal, or is there something slightly wrong with my indicators?
