No, god no, thats just me. Look at TAH's and other's to get an understanding of SL's. 20 pips is just for me. SL should be a few pips below the nearest support for long, while shorts (as in the SonicR manual).

It is not the trading method (SonicR or anything else) that determines the SL. Rather, it is the market volatility (how much it is/might whipsaw), and where the nearest support and resistance areas are, and what your risk tolerance is.

I have been a very poor SL manager, using no stops and ignoring the ones set. Just very recently I might be making progress. And I am thinking there are two things that might help use a SL successfully, meaning fewer lost pips and better trades overall. It is whipsawing that kills us. If the BBs didn't do it, forex trading would be much more profitable. But then, the BBs would be less so. So that ain't going to happen. So, to handle whips, etc.:

1. Later EP- Be very patient with entering. We want to enter after today's whips, and be out before tomorrow's! This means wait for the London session to begin. And wait further until either the anticipated whips have begun, or PA has broken out previous H/Ls on a strong move. Don't be in such a hurry to squeeze every possible pip of profit by having an EP just a few pips beyond that candle that exits the Dragon. There is nothing wrong with waiting for PA to exceed the previous H/Ls! After all, what is better?....losing 5-10 pips on a more relaxed EP, or losing 25-50 pips because the entry was, frankly, too soon and then the whip hits your wide SL, which wasn't wide enough?!

2. Closer SL- Go ahead and set a tight SL; can be even tighter than 20 pips, whatever looks appropriate to the PA. Now, if PA hits it, you've lost less money. But, if that happens, immediately asses if there is a SonicR setup in the opposite direction for which to make entry. If not, or if not sure, then simply wait. You are out of a questionable situation with minimal loss. You can wait some more to see if PA resumes the trade direction, and then select to re-enter. And this time it should be even less likely it will whip like that again.

Please understand that suggestions #1. and #2. are coming from someone who has been very poor at managing the SL, and is only just beginning to think this way. But remember, Sonicdeejay constantly warns Sonikers about having tight SLs when in a trade on such days as NFP, which is to say he is suggesting to have a very wide SL if you insist on being in a trade at that time. The market is looking to knock you out of your trade by whipsawing the price. The question is, can you "out guess" the market and know the correct place to put your SL? No! Maybe the best is to not even be in a trade at such time, but to wait until after the anticipated whipping occurs.

I think the key to SL management is the same key as for a successful trade; the MOMENTUM EVENT. As long as there is likely to be whipping, there is no momentum, no matter how good the setup appears. That is why #1. suggests waiting until after the anticipated whips, or until PA has broken out previous H/Ls on a strong move. You want your entry to be after the price manipulation because that is when the momentum can begin. This is also the key to a successful trade. The Dragon itself is a "momentum" indicator. For example, surely you do not momentarily expect good momentum for a short trade while the PA is still above the Dragon!!!!! So, why would you enter a short trade when PA is above the Dragon????? To do this would mean you are more interested in getting in "soon" than in the MOMENTUM EVENT.

SL management is a very worthwhile subject to discuss and I hope there will be more discussion on this topic.

Yep! Stop hunting up the gazoo! And the best of all that I can see are for AU and UCad!

With AU the BBs began their drive here like they did on all the others, and just kept right on going! But totally against USD all the way! Ridiculous! Well, not really, not from the market's viewpoint. Price is near all-time highs; only about 300 pips away. And USD news is not just "improving" today. It has been doing so for over two months! This run up today looks like the BBs see the handwriting on the wall and took this opportunity to put on a hard drive up, so hard that others would join in and go long. What do you think the BBs did with all that "long liquidity" they induced? My guess is they were pumping and dumping today like there was no tomorrow!

With UCad it is similar, excepting the BBs first tossed in a very minor pro-USD whip before hammering the price down, against the dollar. Here too, the price is very low on the Monthy chart. I think the BBs gave this one another kick in the US balls so others would join in. And when they did, it gave the BBs a grand opportunity for closing shorts and going long.

Starting next week with AU at highs and UCad at lows, there might or might not be time to milk the price range before USD strengthening. But certainly the BBs had nothing to lose putting on these anti-USD price drives. It is like re-pegging the friggers back towards the stops and setting up for the reverse launch. It doesn't matter when the launch comes because the BBs are sitting pretty. It is highly unlikely prices will proceed really far over time in the directions they were driven today. It is far more likely they will proceed really far over time in the opposite directions they were driven today!

The last week was nothing but a whip saw... This kind of candle makes 95% traders to lose money..
It ends with an inside bar in red..Bull will come under while pressure bear will come knocking if 1.327x cant be broken..

Market Comment:

During the relaxation of the weekend, scanning M15 charts of some USD pairs, I discovered something that might be significant. Friday, amidst all that whipping, the volume on all USD pairs dropped off early in the US session, unlike prior days. It looks like the final whips (kicking the USD in the balls again) quickly waned in volume after the initial thrusts. An interpretation of the significance of this is that the anti-dollar thrusts were disengenuous; a "put-on" to get the prices "restored" for more-to-come pro-USD moves next week. Such a "put-on" could have been easy for the BBs, i.e., not too expensive, because likely many were already "shellshocked" by then and sitting out the rest of the market, and therefore not an encumberance to the price manipulations. Also, many flat stayed away all day due to NFP.

I'm not posting a chart with this comment because viewing the pairs and their volume yourself might be worthwhile. And remember, surmising from volume alone is speculative, and should not be the basis for trade decisions. However, if subseqent PA supports it and a Sonic R. setup in confirming direction takes place, more confidence can be had.

Welcome to Sonic R., Ashkan.

Sonicdeejay recommends trading EU. It has the lowest spread, usually a wide range, and most importantly it is the most widely traded pair. This is important because it translates into big volume and better momentum behind moves in the London session, which can be good for the trade off of the Sonic R. System setup.

Trade whatever you want. Many here do trade other pairs from time to time. It is totally your own decision. But remember that Sonicdeejay recommends trading EU for obvious reasons.

As for what size trade you put on, that too is totally your own private concern and does not need to be divulged on this, or any thread. Here on this thread, personally, I only track pips from EP to trade close. Spread and trade size are not a factor in posting trade results.

Hi, i just would like to say, that if i would use indicators, that system would only be SonicR or something like that. At the beginning i was trying and creating many systems, but the end result most of the time was very similar to SonicR, even then i haven't known about such a thing yet.. So, when i first sow this system i realize that i have founded something like that already from the different starting points and it is the closest thing to the end results..

Just take this system seriously, this is the closest indicators based system to the logic i have seen so far.

I am very thankful to you guys, as even though I dont post as I dont have access to this website from work, I follow this system and quite successful

The only exception I make to this system I like higher time prices but lower time volumes and I have switches timeframes to see lower time volumes

I made a first stab at changing the Sonic VSA to be MTF so that i can view volume accumulations and distributions of lower tfs from higher timeframe.

Its seems ok on the same tf, when i come with Sonic VSA but not very accurate on mtf mode.

And yes, the instructions for my indicators are those you find at the tops of the indicator compiles, which you access using MetaEditor.
