Must be honoust here....i did not look at the ATR's this time....but i went in coz EU and GU had a signal at the same time

With these two trades, I have my daily dose of 5 % to my account.

The reason I am going for a 5 % is that my live account is small and I want it to grow fast with compounding and fixed rate moneymanagement.
As soon as its a little bigger I will reduce my risk factor further and will also reduce my leverage.

you are lucky then the TrailStop protected your capital and that is the most important rule in my book.

It is better to have some small amount of pips or even BE trades instead of losses !!

Those might have been 20 pips instead of 5.3 pips, but green pips is green pips. The 10 pip winners will come, be patient my friend

If you have the risk factor at 3.75 %, SL@ 15 and TP @ 10, this still is 1.3 % to the account. in your bank account that would take more than 3 months.

So repeat that every day.... just make an excel file and you see why I say 1% and compounding will make you rich ....

my very first post here on ForexFactory

I've read with interest the whole thread, and I've come to notice that there has been a certain evolution in the system (and almost 3k posts), not only in terms of indicators but also a refinement in the strategy (although most posts are trade examples).

Being a long term professional programmer, knowing mql4 decently and curious person by nature, I'm trying to dig into the rational behind the system (which I believe valuable) and the various indicators used, as I don't think that mechanical trading works without understanding. I have downloaded the various components (mainly indicators) and I'm trying to put the strategy pieces together, but I still have huge gaps.

There are some nebulous areas. For instance, how does the FIFO ALERT indicator exactly work and what are the meaning of the parameters? By reading the code I think I have a general understanding but not totally, and parameters like Period0/Period1 are not really self explanatory... What if I want to adapt it to different time frames? The Level_ZZ indicator is obscure (yet). Many indicators are ex4 only, therefore no idea how they work and what they exactly deliver. And so on and so forth.

Considering the popularity of the thread, I was thinking that maybe a rewriting of the strategy with a little bit more in-depth explanation of the concepts, indicators and triggers could be useful to the community. I perfectly understand that this is very time consuming and I'm more than willing to cooperate in collecting/coordinating. Considering that OP decided to share the strategy in the first place, and that improvements are for the benefit of everybody (including possible error correction), I assume that this will be a rewarding activity that will deliver beneficial results (read happy pipping )

I will try to put together a summary from the understanding that I've got by reading the thread and maybe OP and the community can support this by correcting until we have reached a version that matches what is the most profitable strategy. Is that a good idea?

EU got stopped out at +0.6 pips.
