UPDATE: I have made a minor adjustment to the INVICTUS system. please go to page 152, post 2268:
http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...04#post5278004

Template can be found here: http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...23#post5321123

Udine

I'll start with some background info:

I have been asked by some people a couple of times to start a thread of my own, while I have been active on the Freebie thread: http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=276813

I have registered in july 2008 in ff.com, but have started learning and reading on http://www.babypips.com/school/

I have fooled around with a lot of systems like everybody, but when I found Dredding82's thread (june 2011) the pieces started to fall together.

I have read and re-read the thread and adapted it somewhat.

I started to demo trade my adaptation, which I call INVICTUS, (but could have called it FIFO (Fast In Fast Out), as the trades take mostly only a few minutes) in July 2011 until the end of october 2011.

I have a positive strike rate of about 90 % and the results have been very positive: between 12 - 42 % account growth per week.

The month of August I have not traded, as August is only good for holidays

During my demo trading I have prepared my business plan, trading plan, set my trading rules in stone, set up my trading checklist, my general trading rules, started my trading log / journal which gave me all the details needed. to which pair is more profitable, which days of the week work best, which hour of the day give me higher profitability, etc. etc.

I have started trading live only last week, and thanks to the confidence in the system and myself (hey you have to be your own cheerleader!!), did not mess me up psychologically.... The results have been outstanding as ever: + 28.9 % to the account.

this week up to this moment I am up 12.6 %

Out of gratitude I have promised Dred that, as soon as I reach my goal (in about 15 months, give or take a few days) I would pay for a trip to VEGAS to meet up. Others of Dred's tribe might meet up as well, but they have to pay for the trip themselves

At this moment I work fulltime, and try to squeeze in the trades. I miss several trades, but there is always tomorrow.

to be continued .....

When I found Dreds' system and have adapted the way of trading his set up, I decided to test it according to Gleneagles rules:

1) Is it easy to trade in terms of complex analysis and technical indicators?
2) Is the system consistent for an average 200 pips/month (one pair: = 50 pips/week = 10 pips/day) ?
3) Can I fit it into my risk profile?
4) Are there periods of uncomfortable draw downs?
5) Long term, intraday or scalping?

The question that I had to prove to myself was: can I trade +200 pips a month using this system..or 50 pips a week? Not across multiple pairs..one pair.(= 10 pips per pair per day!!!)

TEST: Time: 3 months / Currencies: 2 / Target: 10 pips / pair / day

WHY:
Check if the system works
After 10 trades you know if the system works
why 3 months: to gain confidence in the system and in myself, and get the discipline, focus and patience.
Limited time in the market (FIFO: Fast IN Fast Out)
Conservative approach
Test 3 months; SL = 200; TP = 100
eg. 2 currencies = 5% /day *20 days = > 100 % account increase / month (COMPOUNDING)

IT WORKS….NOW WHAT?

Trade the heck out of it !!!
From now on only increase lotsize not pip targets (fixed rate money management) !!!!

I only trade the EU & GU as they give me all I need.

I get between 3 - 5 possible trade setups per pair per day. which means 6 - 10 possible trades per day. This is perfect for me as due to my workload I miss several of them during the day.

I trade from 08:00 - 18:00 CET (07:00 - 17:00 GMT) Frankfurt open until London close. This is wintertime in Europe, so no point in discussing trading hours. If you cannot figure this one out....

I will show a complete chart here, but it is a demo account. I have during my demo period let several people see my trading stats through mti4.com, but since I am live, I believe my account is my business

Here you have an example of the EU chart. which had 5 potential trades, of which were 3 perfect trades.

1. perfect short trade
2. perfect short trade
3. perfect long trade
4. no trade
5. no trade

In the next post I will post all indies.

I try to keep my trading as simple as possible, therefore I have some simple rules:

LONG (and for SHORT vice versa)
1.- All MTF HA green.
2.- OHLC green.
3.- BO Signal Bar green: Break Out of Signal Bar (up for Long & down for Short)
4.- min. 10 pips distance to the pivot in the direction of the trade: if not: no trade !!
5.- xADR green & RmUp/Dn green
6.- no trading when news comes out

now the fun stuff... as I know people will love to discuss this....

1. I know of the repainting of the semafor: I dont care
2. no the MTF has bars do NOT repaint: we look at higher timeframes on the 15M, this means that the 1H consists of 4 15m bars and the 4 hour of 16 15M bars, so they might change color, this is NOT repainting!
So that has been dealt with

Next point for discussion: my R:R
My SL is 200 (5 digit broker)
MY TP is 100

I know everybody claims it is wrong, but I dont care, I have a positive strike rate of 90 % my trades are FIFO: Fast In Fast Out. I feel fine with this.

My risk factor is 5 %, so if I get a loss I loose 5 %, If I get my 10 pips I add 2.5 % to the account. All fine by me, I feel no need to discuss this here. If you want to change it, just do, its a free world. You dont need to convince me...

The forex is the most difficult market you can imagine, there are no rules, except the ones you make for yourself, then it comes all down to discipline, focus and patience

now look back to the EU example I have given:

trade 1: perfect short trade: all rules complied
trade 2: perfect short trade: all rules complied
trade 3: perfect long trade: all rules complied
trade 4: no trade: ATR was red = no momentum
trade 5: no trade: distance to pivot was < 10 pips = lower probability of reaching 10 pips

In the next post I will show in detail another example.

If you want to test this, do this at least for month and, in case you are too lazy to keep you own trading log, keep a log at www.mt4i.com. (Which would be the same as not doing your own administration in your own company.....).

But at least you have some tradejournal /log, because I am NOT going to tell you in detail, which pairs are best, which days of the week, which hours of the day have the highest probability of success. It is for you to find out.

I will not answer basic questions like how to install and indicator, script, hotkeys to scripts etc. These are things you need to know already or you are not ready to start demo trading. Find out and then come back.

I will not explain the specifics of each indicator, but YOU should know what an indicator means, does, tells you and does not tell you before you use them.

Before asking any general questions, check if it has been answered before, if not google it and finally as last option ask in the thread.

See yourself as the CEO of your private trading company and ask yourself, is my company healthy or am I going straight for bankruptcy?

With forex you have one of the biggest possibilities of starting a business of your own.

I decided to go forex, because I have a job as sales manager, and get sometimes so fed up with problems with products, transports, payments, customers, collegues, the BOSS, etc, etc.

The reasons why fores is the best business in the world:

1. no rent of offices
2. no staff
3. no inventory or stock to buy
4. no boss, no colleagues in fact no people involved at all - just you
5. no customers
6. no coldcalling
7. no age requirements / limits
8. low investment to start
9. recession and depression proof
10. possible to add to your investment in time
11. does not involve physical labor
12. easy to start part-time
13. you can borrow as much as you want
14. you can close the business in a moment
15. you can "scale" the business to whatever size you want
16. very low overheads
17. profit potential with controlled risk
18. absolutely minimal paperwork
19. location - totally flexible - with internet you can trade from anywhere in the world
20. you can run a million dollar business from a laptop
21. time - totally flexible - you can work whenever you want
22. You can start trading for others for a 20 % commission, but then it is just like a job ?
23. something you must educate your children
24. it is exiting and fun
25. all the features and benefits of a true dream business

The big problem with forex is there are no rules, only the rules you set for yourself, when to trade, what to trade, how to trade, moneymangement, etc etc.

And now the discipline kicks in, withhout it you have absolutely no chance what so ever in this business.

vertical line shows the signal bar.

1. all MTF HAS bars line up.
2. the distance to the next pivot is > than 10 pips
3. ATR and ADR green
4. break out of the signal bar

result + 10 pips ...

Trading can be simple.

I use a simple trailing EA, that sometimes kicks me out early. I do not mind, as several times it has protected me from losses.

Fist rule in trading: preservation of the trading capital... (one of my 60 general trading rules)

Green pips.

Just set it up for yourself, go back some weeks and mark the potential entries and find out for yourself if this works... DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT !!

It is your money, your future, you have to convince yourself... and if it doesn't work for you... just check out this thread, where a lot of people are successfull: http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=276813

If you claim it cannot be done... sorry, I just ask you to step aside and move out of the way and let the people move on who are getting those results

just now there were set ups on both the EU and GU.

It is more risky to trade after these large candles... I traded them with a smaller lotsize than normal, but picked up green pips anyway

Hello Udine,
Great thread. I have downloaded the indicators and have a query. In the screen shots, there is an up/down arrow on signal bars. Is there an indicator for that or did you put them in the screenshots to show the signal candles?
cheers, ForexMastery
