Hi Eyevoltage

I missed it as I was focusing on EURUSD. Where was your stoploss located on that one? Was it the halfway line through the pendent?

Cheers

Hi Adam.
My SL was just under the mid-point line, which made the R:R roughly 1:1.

Does anybody know how to set a alarm on metatrader to sound when price reaches a pivot or mid-point?

Hey Iak,
I have been using the Alerter v2 for years, works great. You can get it here on post 7.

Two nice examples from the 5m cable chart.

The yellow circle shows how price broke through the consolidation formed by the MA, the quarterly-point line and the sloping trendline. An entry after the breakout and a possible exit at the mid-point line would have yielded around 15 pips. The blue rectangle highlights the small period of consolidation along the mid-point line, before price continued northwards to the next quarterly-point line where it came to a halt. Again, a possible 15 pips or thereabouts could have been taken.

Hi Eyevoltage

How did you know to stay in the trade, past the consolidation zone in the blue rectangle?

Thanks

Adam

Hi Adam.
I wasn't in a trade, mate. I posted the chart as an example for reference. I was actually showing TWO separate POSSIBLE trades; hence I wouldn't have been in a trade at the time of the consolidation zone.

I look at consolidation periods as "stand aside" periods, 007. Waiting to see which way price will go. Just common sense, really.

Afternoon, folks.
Been pretty busy at home just lately.......not much time to post anything, so I'm slipping these (today's) trades in, all at once.

First one from a rising wedge on the main-pivot line. Second one from a symmetrical triangle on a quarter-point line. Third one from a flag after price moved back up to the main-pivot line.

A pretty good haul, purely and simply from observing how price has reacted at major or minor S/R pivot lines, and acting on said information.

Just look at the consolidation along the quarterly-point line, and all those long upper shadows, signifying lots of bearish pressure! It paid off with a strong momentum drop to the next quarterly-point down!

I might continue to post the occasional chart in the hope that others might contribute, but it really does look likely that this thread is dead.
