This is just another indication of how, in my humble opinion, USD will strengthen across the board for the following years.

By the way, January has been a great time for 18.4. Up 7% only using this predominant trading tactic.

Hi PutaMadre,

It seems that a nice intraweek short could be taken around 1.3200 (ADR 155%) near descending trendline with 15-20 pips SL. Do you agree?

It seems as well that I don't have balls of steel as I didn't have enough courage to fade such a strong move.

Hello Chris,

I would would not take that trade, because of the freshly made comb formation, they usually indicates further break against angled trendline. I guess now it's better to wait for another chance to go along with the trend, as the weekly range is not fully formed yet.

Hi,

What I like about the EURO IW 18.4:
* The Weekly Open is on the extreme high side of the week. If you look in history you'll see that a lot of strong 18.4's have the Open near the other extreme.

I didn't take it as I don't like that it's the 2nd test of the weekly high, took Silver instead.

Ended January trading, just using 18.4.

Return: 9.65%
Drawdown: 5.7%
Profit Factor:1.61
Max risk taken in a single trade:1.41%

Great numbers overall for the first month of the year just using 18.4.

Jan was a good month for me too. Only 18.4s also (but with my own touches). Now only if we can keep it consistently positive for the coming months also. This is the tough part.

I knew that taking this intraweek trade would be really aggresive. Mainly because market was going parabolic towards weekly high, that's why I didn't take it in the end .

Solid break and retest of weekly open at 1.3214 tomorrow would be really sweet. As you said, we have got still a lot of room to go.

My IW entries market didn't reach my entry on AUDUSD by some 20 pips. NZDJPY was missed by a miserable pip! GBPCAD was a matter of spread.


When I look @ NZDJPY, I feel like I could have taken more risk.

Eurusd prints really nice symmetry from the very beginning of this week. It looks really beautiful.

Today ID short could be taken at the test of daily open (whipsaw was really close and that shows how important it is to place stop above daily high).

Position could be taken as well after market printed huge pinbar on H1 around 1.3154, though R:R wasn't so good in this place.

Market turned around after filling 98% ADR.

The market paints very similar picture as it was back in the 2011 october...

Hello Guys,

I want to share with you my today's experience I have gained trading eurusd. Maybe it will be of use to someone.

LESSONS LEARNED:

1. USING RANGE TEMPLATES KEEP YOUR STOP UNDER DAILY LOW, IT'S A REALLY GOOD PLACE. DON'T DEFEND YOUR POSITION TOO EAGERLY.

2. TIMING IS REALLY IMPORTANT, ESPECIALLY USING 18.4 TEMPLATE. FOR SURE IGROK HAD A LOT OF REASONS TO WRITE IN HIS BOOK THAT IT SHOULD BE PLAYED IN VERY LATE EURO SESSION AND NY SESSION


DESCRIPTION OF TRADE MANAGEMENT:

From the very beginning of the day I planned to play Fiber with 18.4 template.
After 8 GMT market tipped its hand and showed north direction, direction for this week was up as well and I have decided to put buy limit near daily open at 1.3127.
Around 9 GMT I was filled and soon after was watching my position growing nicely and I started to place my targets. But as usual market decided to check if my nervous system is working properly and retest process has begun. AS ALWAYS .
I have decided that moving into BE wouldn't be good, as probably I will be shaken out too easily but i didn't want to lose full position on this one either. OH NO!
My initial stop was at below daily low at 1.3086, and after market came down again to my entry level I have decided to move my stop up to 1.3114 - below weekly open, which was a nice little level to me as well.
I knew that If will survive till NY open, I will have more chance to avoid hitting my stop. Unfortunately, market decided to go lower before NY open and I was shaken out from my first position. The result was -0.45 R.

Later around NY open I saw nice bullish PA coming back right to my previous entry level and I thought "you were just shaken from good position you dumbass". I have decided to reenter the market and it turned out to be a good decision, as my target at 80% ADR- 1.3180 was reached really fast. The outcome of second position was 1.55 R.

Now, I could save myself all of this by keeping my stop all the time under daily low or by entering during VERY LATE EURO SESSION
