Why would you worry about the spread ???
When you know you will get profits within 24 hrs?
If I don't get profits, most likely all the trade who hold
long positions will go down with me ... but at least
i'm about from 20-40 PIPS better

I'll buy heavily with the gap down 1.2640 and TP @ 1.267

The gap is the difference between the price action at the close of the market and at the following open. Usually there is anywhere from a ~5 to ~25 pip spread. In unusual cases, it can be much higher. If you are heavily positioned it may be good to close out until the open. The gap usually closes as the day progresses.

Oanda is one of a handful of brokers that allow trading during the close of the market. You will be paying premium prices (huge spread) for these trades however.

MaxDoom ... tell me what's ur broker prices when they close @ 5 PM on Friday and when they open ... if they are the same prices ???
If not, then that's the gap ... Oanda prices usually goes up or down anywhere from 30 to 80 PIPS before the market open on Sundays.
Once the market open, Oanda prices will get close to where it close on Friday @ 5 PM ..... hope that help

oh boy, I fully understand what a gap is thanks.

Question is are you trading a gap that really exists seeing how the real markets are not open yet and so you are simply trading against Oanda at this time, hence the bigger spread they are charging you for the pleasure of trading a ZERO liquidity market.

pressure continued down in eu also & can be massive over great tl at down though & so good ranges to break even tl possible .
Now immediate limit for bear remain 2761 still & if got the heart do it for the next fall tl 2535 & or tl 2500. anyway no real tl hit before eu .
fall to bottom or nearer to try further up for correction till limit before the move down if not crushed so early at hit bottom & continue down direct , possible .
lets see .

gu , early crush as suspected possible as per gu but yet not believe this miracle over-reaction infaviur , so so better will wait fir frankie & london crush to enter market for it .

nope...i say that the market continues during the weekend...so there is no gap.

The interbanks close Friday 10pm to Sunday 10pm GMT as I know it.

So sometimes a gap is generated and hey maybe today will be one.

But that is not the gap that you are trading because Oanda and a few other borkers try to guess what the prices will be when the interbanks start up on Sunday night and create their own market off-hours basically.

Whatever price they are at when the interbanks open they will adjust to the interbank price at open. They will have made the larger spread that they have charged for off market trading and may have some +/- on the positions as well. But no doubt they used some clever advanced hedging with futures and/or options prior to the weekend based on usual off-hours trading pattern and to ensure they make money on the positions as well.

Pretty sure that how it all works chap.

Just looked it up to be sure and the interbank works 8:15pm Sunday to 10pm Friday GMT so any trading done before 8:15pm is the off-market scenario.

Anyway, I'm currently down about 40-50 PIPS on multiple positions.
I'm hoping it will get back to 1.2675 around 6 PM EST

My lawyer usually includes a special consideration clause in my marriage contracts. After a little haggling, my would be wives normally agree to a decent amount of consideration per day calculated from the first day of the marriage until the day of divorce (both days inclusive), payable within 24 hours of them getting a divorce. However, they are not entitled to such consideration, in full or part, if such divorce is an outcome of any act of betrayal. If that betrayal results in any earnings, I am entitled to forfeit entire such earning. However, as a courtesy to the mankind in general and women in particular, I let them keep the personal possessions acquired after the marriage and before the divorce.
