When you see bonds, gold, etc. move, how does that affect your decision when trading EURUSD? When I looked at these instruments they all seemed to be moving together. There were not many indications or clues that would tell me if EURUSD is going up or down. EURUSD goes down, EURJPY goes down, Gold goes down, equities go down, bonds go up, DAX goes up, etc. but they all move together. All it would tell me is that money is flowing in and out of instruments, not for how long or how much.

The only clues I would draw from inspecting these instruments is their own limits (S/R S/D) and how that would affect the money flow. For example, EURUSD sells off, DAX rises hitting hard resistance or supply. DAX reverses and the dollars goes into Gold for example.

I agree but the reason we do this is to take on our own risk to provide ourselves with better finance to liberate ourselves from the standardized 9-5 job that society has carved out. With the profits from your on-going and persistent hard work in trading you can create the life you want with the freedom you have earned by taking on the risk and investing your time and effort to learn something that is full of uncertainty.

With this earned freedom you can live where you want, work when you want and if you have earned enough profit do what you want.

Yes staring at a screen all day is shit but in the end the result pays off.

What futures, dollar index and bonds tell you is where the money is going and a clue to the "risk on" "risk off" trade. Gold is all over the place now and I don't use it anymore. US$ index and US bonds are the biggest clue to the markets risk appetite.

In panic, investors flock to US bonds for safety.

For short term trading if US$ and bonds are up, short risk currencies. If they are down, go long risk currencies like the euro.

Oil, copper and gold affect the aussie, kiwi and CAD the most.

That's how I use them.

I have done a lot of things in my life... this sitting around like a dog with fleas stuff is by far the easiest and most enjoyable and unlike many of the other things I do for enjoyment there is no risk to life or limb.

Life is way too short to spend my time feeling that nothing is right with the world... particularly when things have never been better for the mass of humanity.

One of my favorite (true) stories is about a Jew that made it through a Nazi concentration camp alive. Not only was he alive, he had a smile on his face. When asked how he could still smile, he replied "I used to be a divorce lawyer so I know full hand just how destructive negative emotions are. Many years ago I decided to cultivate positive emotions."

Trading is the best job there can be if your good at it. Point was that everything get's boring, more money you make, more you want because theres nothing much to do anyway. Eat, sleep, fuck, suck (for women) and when your 50 years old you have a monster belly and maybe fighting with heart attack etc. Working hard for what in the end...?

If its between what you described above and being a corporate rat where you earn a 2% cost of living increase each year and a menial bonus (if youre lucky) for hours in excess of 45-55 per week, I'll be staring at dogs with fleas

Hahaha. If you think about the big picture, it's all for nothing anyway. Yes this earth was a big ball of volcanic chaos that then somehow morphed into a perfect planet for life. We grew from a single celled organism, adapting over time with increased intelligence, creativity and knowledge. And what for? Why? If we all got wiped out today it would not matter to anything. The only thing that matters is emotion and we are the only things that have it. Emotions are naturally conflicting and flawed. People say we live in a corrupt system? We are the corrupt system.

Only my view, can agree or disagree, it is only the perspective to look into it, perspective varies people to people because we the human being are such a wonderful creature, When you were typing this I can understand a pretty matured person was forwarding his perspective to the world .. did you had any purpose doing this? Yes, subconsciously you had, that is sharing your feeling freely to the world ... after sharing this you successfully converted your disappointment to the world in an inner happiness ... and achieving this inner happiness is the all we need.

There always will be question to the existing system, all the shits happening in our surroundings but then we also have thoughtful productive minds among us ... all is need to have the inner happiness, fostering the productive mind and act upon (just you did by your post and I'm doing by my post).

How this is going to help to the world ?

There are people who are part of this world will come, read this thread, gather good idea, I'm sure they will have something to think about and they will find themselves in a different queue which can think proud, do good and act against shit.

That's how I use them.
So risk gives you the overall sentiment of confidence but for how long will it last for? Could you not just tell if risk was on/off just by looking at EURUSD chart? It would be reflected real time (mostly) with the other instruments.

Overall point is that every person should think why they are doing things they do and why they are reacting to things in a way they due, people don't analyse themselves and that's why they erect wrong desires. That's really the problem and then they search answers from religion or power etc.

This is why I respect monks and their practise. Their inner world or true 'subjective objectivity' allows them to control their thoughts, emotions and bodies. Their fear, greed and hate is eliminated by pure choice and control. They don't put importance on the outside world that fucks with their head. They perceive and define everything based on choice without any erratic reactional behaviours.

Perhaps us traders should learn to meditate while trading.
