what lazylobster says is absolutely correct. The only thing i dont agree with him is that he say its piprac thread LOL its Britpip7 not piprac. Piprac is another trader

Maudur
why do i keep going short at those candles?
Because that my buddy are my signal candles.
Those are one of the candles that i see happening over and over again thats why i will execute those trades without thinking.
I have mentioned before that i am more of an aggressive trader so i will trade before news if i see a signal and i said that if you a conservative trader then you should stay out and watch from the sideline. If you have you edge and all the confidence then take the trade

EURUSD did give long (counter-trend) opportunity, at the close of the bearish candle of the London open there was a valid TDI cross up which yielded an excess of 25 pips.

One of the training wheels I've employed is the TMS OSC Cross indicator, it removes the need for guess work until you finally begin to anticipate and identify rejection/pullback candles and confirm with TDI crosses.

Check the screenshot below you may need to enlarge it to see the TDI Cross signals as arrows.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the lucid explanations X-Man & LazyLobster and now from the real piprac: I mentioned in the original TMS by BigE that one couldn't ignore fundamentals when trading. someone told me to stay on topic! Well, I think the above posts clearly show you need the Big Picture including all 3 threads pertaining to TMS. Have a nice weekend all. p.

Hi S3 traders,

Just tried an idea to put the Synergy_APB(2) in a separate indicator window instead of on the chart data.
Also overlay the TDI in the same window. This would leave my chart data window clutter free so that I see the original candlesticks better.
See attached example.
Any interest anyone?

Cheers!

Not that you watch it here but COT data shows the big boys are adding to their eur shorts. 1.20 coming, we'll see.

Here is another link to an article on the euro shorts - fundamentals supporing the charts - will we see an ECB intervention soon?

I had a gr8 time today studying an e-book on Price Action and Price Patterns.
What I did was split my screen in two, display my platform charts in one half and the e-book in the other half so I could actually see the examples on my charts (like a back test) and it was quite rewarding.
Just tot I'd share, you may learn from it enjoy!

Hello everybody,

I am a lurker of this great thread and I decided to make an account with FF. Thats a compliment to you x-man!
I ve been trading the method for about two weeks and made a little under 25% (demo), but thats a to short of a time range too quit my job lol. My problem in trading is the exit. I hope you guys are willing to help me out a bit. I have a feeling Im leaving too much pips on the table.

My strategy is to move my stop to break even when I am plus 8 pips (thru backtesting). My initial stop loss is 20 pips. When I am plus 15 pips I move stop to 5 pips. But when 20 pips is hit thats my goal for the day. Still I believe this is too static and, like today, missing a lot of pips. Could you guys share your methods a bit more? Maybe the atr? Oh and sorry for my bad zwenglish hahaha!

Well, since I didn't catch the pips train that took off tonight (got to the market late...) I have ample time to give you words of advice. I would say that you should give your trades room to breath. I understand the pull to lock in your profits, but it takes them out on the other end. Many folks might point you to the ATR, and that would be one technique for your stop and your take profit. Personally I put my Stoploss at just below the previous swing, say three pips or so, and my take profit is ususally static starting at 50 pips. Always watch price action for getting out of a trade as it will tell you if you are going to get those 50 pips or just 25 of them. As for the break even point I usually move to break even around 20-25 pips (half of initial take profit). Now if the synergy bars are looking strong I will move my take profit up 30 pips and watch to make sure it goes. Be flexible. I am sure others will chime up with other great ideas and try using the ones that make the most sense to you. Trading is kind of like a buffet table, take what you want and leave the rest. http://www.forexfactory.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Your money management makes perfect sense, only when I backtest using your strategy (manually that is) I see a lot of losers. Maybe I hop in a trade too late.

Dutch:

Do you have a firm grasp on the Pull back bars? Are you letting your emergency stop loss get hit or are you getting out early when Price Action Tells you? Are you still using TDI? The TDI will get you in late every time (my opinion). X-Man Uses PA to get in and out of a trade and the TDI to train Newbies to see Price Action. I might also add that although I confirm with the hourly chart after the fact, I actually enter on the 15M chart. So I get in even earlier (watch out for head fakes on this timeframe) But while I was on the 1H chart the previous post's method worked very well for me once I got Price Action and mastered the Pull back bar. But like I said, always use what works And makes sense to you. Good Luckhttp://www.forexfactory.com/images/icons/icon6.gif

PSd: Don't use later half of December data for your backtesting. The holidays messes it up and I didn't trade at all during that time. Any other time is fine.

I remember that X-Man mentioned that today was usually his worst day statistically. Had I been to the market on time, I would have easily reached my goal on the 15M timeframe of 50 pips. Just scalped myself 12 pips a moment ago, but I still think this system is great. Try tommorrow, it will probably be busier.

I think I dont have the grasp totally under my belt for the pullback bars. I still do use the tdi, but I use it in combination with 1 price pattern icm with two ma angle (little different) which are resulting in pretty need entries. I use the opening of a new candle on 1 h but only if the price is right.

The reason I am a bit conservative is that I want to make a profit every day with low risk, the problem is dat it often kills my runners and quit a bit of break even trades. I am going tu use your mm for a change and see if I can get comfartable with it.

Do you trade on a real account, Ia m still demoing.
