A bit basic but not bad. Strange definition of Fundamentals as supply and demand.
This guy is recommending picking tops and bottoms. A classic NO NO, but one which I think I may well adopt.

According to this you should sell your gold. Tech says sell. Fundamentals are unknown, perception is mixed (positive with doubt.)

What is being said that it is first Fundamentals that move the market or affect the market. Then he talks about the Technicals.

The most important in my mind is the PERCEPTION.

FTP which is the above

FUN is supply and demand. Short for Fundamentals.

Tech for Technicals and price moves up and down and you might not know the Fun until the middle of the run. Look at the Video to see that.

Now to Perception when fundamentals line up in middle of run. Now we get to top and everyone is positive and Technicals turn down and The Markets Always Tell You The Truth.

The Perception is starting to change even though some Fundamental Trader's probably know why as it relates to supply and demand and Risk On and Risk Off which is another dimension.

Once you learn to identify good fresh supply and demand areas it actually works quite well for picking tops and bottoms, placing a SL and TP targets. Especially on 240, daily and weekly charts. Fresh supply and demand zones on high TF charts are usually pretty strong.

The faster price moves into an area the scarier the entry but those entries are usually the best as they often bounce out of the area hard. Yes you do get run over doing this.


There are 3 basic ways to enter.

1. Agressive entry - Get ready to step in front of the bus. Most recommend against doing this but it works. You have identified the area and have a good R/R ratio and price is screaming toward it. Place your limit order with the SL and TP and sit on your hands to watch the show.
2. Less agressive entry - after price enters the supply or demand zone, place a buy or sell stop order below a supply zone or above a demand zone and wait for price to come back out to trigger the entry. If you have access to advanced order placement attach an order for the SL and TP with the buy or sell stop order, if not, immediatly place the SL and TP order once you are in the trade. This is also the easiest to do a market order with.
3. Least agressive entry - let price hit the supply or demand zone and bounce out of it. Then place a limit order with stops and TP to catch the retest.

Thanks. The more I think about it the more I want to start picking tops and bottoms. Particularly off of young nubile women.

wow only me here. i've had a set back with a/u and was crucified but thats forex for you. i can only assume it is to do with the holiday as my statistics/odds are normally quite good, anyway trading goes on and i'm sure i'll claw the pips back. i'll just stick to the system keep my head and wont do anythink stupid.

looks like market have a "big hope" for merkel n sarkozy meeting in 9 jan....

At 7:00 AM EST as Japan was opening EUR/USD was at 1.2935 and now at 9:24 PM EST it is at 1.2979 with the High at 1.29909 on my FXCM UK platform. I have been out since 5:00 PM EST so now I will search for some reasons other than Merkel and France meeting on Januaty 9, 2012.

I just looked at a chart of XAU/USD and it is a mirror image of EUR/USD so I conclude Gold is in the spotlight as it moves up and US Dollar Index is weaker and thus EUR/USD moved up accordingly.

Look at a 15 minute chart of EUR/USD and Gold since 7:00 PM EST.

Word out in Asia is that precious metals are in favor. Look at Silver also. That makes sense to me. Other comments welcome. I will short EUR/USD at some point however I will be patient to see if it can break through 1.3000 and then decide what to do.

On this first business day of the 2012 New Year, let us keep our eye on the ball of gold fundamentals.

Nothing yet has occurred that would reverse the Formula given to you years ago. Government spending, call it monetary stimulation or entitlements, continues to grow.

Business struggles to perform as people drop off the jobless count, still without jobs. Governments have gambled all on business improvements to offset the loss of revenue versus spending. They have lost.
Nothing has changed and nothing is changing. The best economic figures are bottom bouncing or provided by the problem itself, large lending to those with weak credit, such as in autos.

The din of gold voices is at best confused. The hedge funds have won a battle, but will surely lose the war.

Stay focused, hunker down and stay the course. This is hardcore stuff.
Just like Conrad Colman, the 28 year old sailor who raced around the world in sailboats since he was 16, won his around the world leg into port in his home country of New Zealand, persistence when you have the right stuff brings home first place. We will persist through the mindless algorithms and evil plans of the winderkun master of the universe, the hedgies.
Alf is right. Gold will make new highs.

Each 1,000,000 ounces a gold company has will be worth not millions, but rather billions. The fact that gold is honest money will overcome all the MOPE fiat manufacturers can produce. Conrad Colman never took his eye off the ball regardless of multiple challenges along his life course.

Paul Krugman’s article in the December 15 issue of The New York Times under the title G.O.P. Monetary Madness takes G.O.P. presidential candidate Dr. Ron Paul to task for his ‘ideological’ stand on money. For excellent reasons, not all of which had to do with fear of a Zimbabwe-style hyperinflation, the Constitution explicitly prohibited manipulation of the dollar such as Bernanke’s threefold increase of the monetary base in three years. Krugman ruefully reports that the ‘hard money doctrine and the paranoia about inflation’ took over the G.O.P. that has, up until now, meekly followed Keynesian precepts about pump priming and turning the stone into bread through pushing interest rates all the way down to zero.
According to Krugman, in spite of the ‘false alarm’ sounded by the Austrian economists over the debasement of the dollar, inflation is still only 1.5 percent. ‘Who could have predicted that so much money printing would cause so little inflation?’ he asks rethorically. ‘Well, I could, and I did’, he boasts, ‘because I understand Keynesian economics that Mr. Paul reviles.’
In the event, unknown to Krugman, I also predicted the same thing. Unlike Krugman I did more than simply predicting that inflation was not the danger. I warned that Keynesianism would lead to deflation and depression.

Money-printing has become counterproductive. Krugman doesn’t understand that it will boomerang. I stated that, unwittingly, Bernanke is the Quartermaster General of the Great Depression II (see: Front-Running the Fed, www.professorfekete.com, February 9, 2010). He doesn’t understand the monstrous mistakes prophet Keynes made concerning the role of speculation in the money-creation magic. The fact is that central bank buying makes speculation risk free in the bond market. In comparison, speculative risks in the commodity [COLOR=blue !important][COLOR=blue !important]market[/color][/color] appear forbidding. All the speculator has to do in order to reap risk-free profits is to preempt the Fed. He buys the bonds before the Fed has a chance. Then he turns around and dumps them into the lap of the Fed at a profit. The Fed is helpless: it must buy at the higher price. Keynes completely misrepresented the ability of the central bank to stay in charge, given its compulsive drive to suppress interest rates when confronted with a profit-hungry pack of bond speculators.

The move up in Asian Equities on Good China news has encouraged US Dollar selling. Next Level of Resistance is 1.3000

Next Break Point would be 21 day MA at 1.3090

IFR Short Call is stopped out at 1.3025

When this came out EUR/USD traded at 1.2981 to 86

It now trades at 1.29745 Bid.

On a 15 Minute Chart FXCM UK SAR first Red Dot at 10:00 PM EST and now Three Red dots in...

I will watch for a test of 1.3000 before even thinking about a trade. There could be a positive tone to Europe open continuing into North America.

The operative word is could be. Be patient and wait.

I think that's why the gold market has started to come back from this correction.".....................That word "contagion" keeps popping up. It is difficult to get a handle on what precisely is going on in Europe. The Eurocrats can't seem to get out of the meeting mode and the public is confused. When banks start going down though, it gets people's attention. As pointed out up at the top, Europeans are buying physical gold and putting pressure on the supply of pre-1933 gold coins -- a favorite among our clientele.................Hathaway in that same interview on whether or not gold has become a crowded trade: "I don't think the gold trade is crowded, I don't think it ever has been crowded (during this bull market). It can get popular from time to time, like anything, but popular is one thing, crowded is a totally different thing. Popular means it's on the front pages and lots of people are talking about it, but crowded is like what we saw with housing or dotcoms and we are nowhere near that and never have been frankly."...............Tell it like it is, John..............Bank of England governor, Mervyn King: "This is the most serious financial crisis we've seen, at least since the 1930s, if not ever.".............China voiced strong opposition to the currency bill recently passed by the Senate -- legislation meant to punish China for its beggar-thy-neighbor currency policy. Will China play the China card and start selling U.S. Treasuries? University of Maryland economics professor Eugene Y. Lee says Fed chairman Ben Bernanke believes it will and is making plans to offset Chinese sales. In a China Daily article he says, "Few, if any, economists mentioned the China factor in the Fed's decision [Editor's Note: To resurrect Project Twist] the Fed is trying to regain its control over long-term interest rates and to keep bond interest rates lower in case China stops buying US treasury bonds." China's reserves include over $1.1 trillion in U.S. Treasuries.......................ZeroHedge, the widely read financial blog, speculated that China might already be selling: "Little did we know 5 short days ago just how violent the reaction by China would be (both post and pre-facto) to the Senate decision to propose a law for all out trade warfare with China. Now we know - in the week ended October 12, a further $17.7 billion was "removed" from the Fed's custodial Treasury account, meaning that someone, somewhere is very displeased with US paper, and, far more importantly, what it represents, and wants to make their displeasure heard loud and clear. Looking breaking up for today

The present eurusd pattern indicates going UP to me hit in the R and coming down quickly .. I have some Buy Limit orders TP @ 1.30714 for today.

Krugman is an IDIOT. How someone that ignorant ever won the Nobel prize is beyond me.

Daily eye @ 1.2988 breaking up may target 1.32
Be careful as that level,PT have a huge Sell limit on there which will brings EU drop quickly
