Trading is not about set ups only, is much more. I just had a private chat with him and told him what he needs to deliver if he really would like to become a decent trader. Will he? I am not sure. He is the only one that can make that happening. I only can guide him.

Take Warren Buffet as a fine example of starting out young. By the age of 17 he had made over 50,000 from stock investments alone. If you have the knowledge, the money and the backing of your parents or guardians I think that 14 is an optimal time to start. If it doesnt work out well then he can find another profession to seek. But he has excellent knowledge for such a young age and therefore I feelonce his account stays alive and he continues to learn by the time he finishes college or whatever education he seeks he should be able to go straight into the bad world and work for himself and by himself with no one to answer to but himself!

I am on the same quest only I'm a little older and doing just fine, sure I went through a very rocky patch but regrouped and now I'm trading excellently and am pretty confident that is I meet my goal by May 2013 I can venture out and trade for a living..

la maschera, jolly well said. This is all about protection, either protecting your money and protecting each other.i was going to say guys even though i am not trading until the new year if i had to i might wait for a nice inside bar then trade accordingly even though it isnt my normal trading way.

my 8 year old girl has traded approximately 5 times and won 4 of these on e/u. she is a wave counter but i dont actually know her actual way. her profit before she retired was approx £80 english pounds. She just saw yesterdays big drop and she says it was obvious lol and she wants me to give her £100. and she still believes in father christmas. She has been watching wall street as this shifts quite a lot. anyway do i give her the money???

Just for feel:

Mixed results from today's Italian bond auction; German CPI expected higher m/m; GBPUSD at fresh 13 week low and EURJPY nears 100 level. Market turns to jobless claims, Chicago PMI and pending home sales. Thursday's Premium trades are up (see link below).

Risk aversion stabilizes while EURUSD struggles to regain $1.29 after dipping to 1.2850s. US equity futures are modestly higher.

German December CPI is still being collected but states that have already published their results saw annual inflation in the 1.7% to 2.4% range. Monthly CPI rose 0.5% to 0.7% which is attributed to holiday season. Results for the whole of Germany will be published later today.

Italy sold EUR 7.02 bln (5 to 8.5 bln target) worth of bonds today. The yield was mixed, bonds maturing in 2014 and 2022 saw lower yield while bonds maturing in 2022 and 2018 saw higher yield. Bid to cover was on the weak side between 1.35 and 1.97. The 10 year Italian-German spread widened 13 bps immediately after the auction and stands at 519 bps. Italian business confidence fell in December to 92.5 from previous 94.0.

Haha, awesome. Kids are accelerated learners - they learn much faster and efficiently than adults. Because children don't have that much pre-conceived junk that adults have developed, they don't filter out and make bias judgements on their experience.

If your daughter enjoys watching price patterns, that can only be a good thing. Think of how Jesse Livermore learned tape reading. Everyday he watched and absorbed price patterns in the bucket shop from age 14. Overtime his unconscious knew these patterns. Later Jesse would get these 'gut feelings' and be able to correctly predict most of his speculations.

Building a discipline is all ... but it is (all know) the most hard part ... high probability after some time walking straight on the path you will not remain as YOU ... but the important thing is you know you have to take that step ... which has no back step .... only ahead ... but is your surroundings allowing you to take the step?

May be now I need to quote Buma, when price and Time meets / matches then enter into the Trade, This small step is also has a depending factor which is TIME, Till the Time comes be patience (To Me).
