Hi everyone hope things are good, i wont mention trading as i think only mugs woud trade the holiday period. having just read some of your input regarding indies etc,, i think new years resolutions should be scrap all indies, Gold nailed it on the head and Lion summed it up rather well but long winded. pro traders have the secret of simplicity and thats why we thrive. take care all and best wishes for new year

before am using daily with again "Simple Trendlines" the average winning rates is 70% over,the problem is emotion/psychology/discipilines then one day I think how and if I can catch only 50% the daily range everyday,how good is it then I try Learn and studied it for a few month combine with Sir Goldman advise

Sure we need a system,but am believe we dont need complicated one,am more believe the key is our MM and RR
Its like combine Cloggie Skill and Chicky Mind --> How good is it

Here i will share the best posts i have read on trading overall (my persepctive)

Just a little lesson. There is nothing you can borrow, beg, buy or steal to make it in this business.

Nobody, and I mean nobody who has a winning strategy/style is ever going to share it on a public forum with some muppets he/she doesn't know from Adam.

Stay away from the strategy/system threads, they are full of rubbish. If any of 'm really had a winning system he would be on the phone to GS/DB/UBS and flog it for a couple of mill, not post it on an anonymous forum like this.

You need to find your own style/strategy. Ignore all the systems/styles/strategies that ppl recommend to you here or elsewhere.

You went live too quickly. You need to work on demo, finetune your strategy, work with it for so long that it becomes second nature. Learn how the fundamentals and news works.

Some will say that you should always start a live account to get the emotions of live trading.

I totally disagree with that, you don't see new pilots jumping in the airplane right away, you don't see student doctors going "live" right away.

Everything that is worth learning and getting good at, take time and practise.

The only way to get better is demo, read, watch.


There are 4 different stages a new trader goes through when it comes to learning to trade, the first one is the memorising level. It is where you just do what your indies tell you, this will never ever work in the long run.

The second phase is understanding what the indies/markets/signals do, understanding what it all means.

The third phase is applying that knowledge to your trading, this is when the average trader is fairly profitable, he will still have large DD's, will still fight the market and himself at times and could well blow his account at some time in the future.

The final phase of a trader is the correlated phase, this is where a trader knows his system/style/strategy. He knows the calculations of each and every indy, why it shows what it shows and why price behaves as it does, he knows how the news affects him, he knows how the fundamentals works. He can thoroughly and correctly judge risk correlations. He makes quick decisions with a healthy dose of "gut" feeling based on his experience. Trading decisions are made often unconsciously based on a vast amount of experience. If he experiences something new in either himself or the market he knows immediately how to respond to that. This phase of trading takes the longest to achieve, for many it takes years and years.

That last phase is your goal, you need to write out a journeyplan. Where are you now, what do you need to do to get to your goal and how are you going about to achieve all of that.

Play it safe, make it a 5 year plan, you will be surprised how long it takes to become a competent, profitable, consistent trader.

I suppose he does it because he can mostly get away with it. The repeated ego strokes he gets from this forum got him addicted.

He started off really nice and very helpful. As time passed his educational posts turned into noob/scammer/spammer battering posts.

I recomend swing trading for you because first of all it is easier then scalping and also it teaches patience. Many beginners try to be in every trade, they rush around and then they end up with the margin call.

If i'm bored i make a lot more but you don't really need to trade much, just spot the good oportunity, make big trade with tight stop and you make much more then most in a month ...and sometimes this trade is only 5-15 min long.

We need to focus who is in the other side of the trade, we want to make sure that we are trading with people that have no idea what they are doing (we can see it by looking how price is acting), people that are just novice traders. Trading is a mind game like i said before, there are people that make money even if they don't understand SD and PA but they are not masters of this game, they can't see people behind those candles if you know what i mean.

Is that stop too near? I don't think so, all depends how you are able to read the markets.

you have the basic ideas but i believe that if just give you the answers i wont be doing you any favors.

but lets just further dig into some points that you brought up in your answers.

research:

1 foreign exchange market/ foreign exchange market structure
2 the role of the central banks in a free floating exchange economy
3 Modern Monetary theory
4 austrian economics and the difference between a gold standard economy and a fiat money economy

by the way traders do not move the market, especially not retail traders.
learn who the participants are and who the interbank clients are.
you mentioned the USD is the reserve currency correct? how can you take advantage of that fact? have you ever traded by correlations of the 6 pairs?
when the 6 majors are not in sync then how can you exploit this?
what is the impact of the majors on the crosses? remember crosses are made of usd/x vs usd/y = x/y except for eur/jpy it is actually quoted with euro as the base.

how does your broker process your trade? research how he quotes you and his tricks.
price shading, slippage, re quotes.

your way of explaining how candle sticks work is not exactly accurate, research candle sticks.


kiddo i want you to UNDERSTAND THE MARKET. Not just place trades, based on all these indicators and lines you have in your head.

please research these terms

volatility
risk
risk assesment
VAR
ROI
learn to calculate your GMMA and compare it with an SMA evaluate if it serves your purpose.
momentum
range
carrying capacity
velocity
acceleration
if you are using a MACD please tell me how its calculated by hand.

i really hope you understand that the market is unpredictable but not random, and composed of buy/sell orders, no one can predict price, unless you are a psychic.

imagine this, you dont have computer access, or access to your platform.
WHAT INFORMATION WOULD YOU NEED TO TRADE?

if all historical data was erased today, and you were only able to see oncoming data how would you be able to trade profitably?
it is possible.

as i told you before, THE CHART, THE LINES, ALL THE MOMBO JUMBO is NOT THE MARKET.

the bid/ask quote IS THE MARKET. everything else is a derivative and measures the movement of the quotes. There are no time frames, there is only price. The market does not see any squiggly lines.

the market never changes yet it changes constantly
the market cannot be predicted yet you can anticipate it.

its a big conundrum, and it is how you COPE that makes you a great trader
