I managed to trade my old Oanda account into 35% profit for the year. This is the first year I have made a profit in six years of trying. I know it sounds pretty piss weak with all the noobs on this forum claiming those returns every day, week or month but I consider it quite a milestone.

The account was started with $1000 over 2 years ago. I tanked it down to $90 after achieving a high of $3600 in the first six months. The account is currently trading at $300.

My plan is to trade this account back to the original $1000 which I...

Hi MAC Doug. You probably underestimate "amount of money in trading". You are good enough, so why not to practice 5000USD account? With 300USD you will never feel the pressure of bigger acc. Professionals recommend(big % of them) at least something around 5000USD to start. Which is still very small account. It is such retailers cheap kid game. So you already can think of 50.000USD account. Let 300 for the sparks! Regards

I know my small account isnt the same as trading 50k or 500k. I am well aware I could not reproduce these returns with big money. But I am simply not willing to risk it on my trading yet. I am not confident that I wont lose it all again and I am simply not willing to lose another cent. I support a family - the money is not mine to lose. There are still gaps in my risk management that I need to fill and I want a longer record of consistency before I will say I am ready. I know how to wait

Hi MAC Doug. You want to do it you way. Losing in trading is something, what one have to accept. To take a risk. Family is great, but it doesnt have any influence to the market. Professionals wont care about your family and excuses for that. It is such system... You will be satisfy with your small account until you fund it. Then you will see diving under what you are get used to and your mind will crash and you will die horribly again.

"The Czech Republic is the first former member of the Comecon to achieve the status of a developed country according to the World Bank.[8] In addition, the country has the highest human development in Central and Eastern Europe,[9] ranking as a "Very High Human Development" nation. It is also ranked as the third most peaceful country in Europe[10] and most democratic and healthy (by infant mortality) country in the region.[11][12]"

It is true - I live in the lucky country, the land of plenty, and it is both those things. We had no recession, we had no banking crisis and we have no sovereign debt issues. but you also have much you could be grateful for, by world standards

kicked arse yesterday, finished 2.1% up after a 3.2% drawdown and cracked the 50% for the year!

I tried 8 times to sell the rally convinced it was the right thing to be doing. Every position stopped out. Some broke even and one managed a profit but none of my first 8 attempts reached target. I was 3.2% down before I was finally vindicated with another 1% on the line. Then my limit long at support worked perfectly and iced the cake.

Thats it, my first profitable year out of six and Im done

Very happy with my first trade of the year. It returned 1.2% from a 0.2% risk Nice clean trend continuation set up and a perfect result. I am aiming to improve my hit rate this year with more selective entries. This is a great start

This is a bit more like reality trading with 3 attempts at this long Aussie trade before finally hitting paydirt. Another 1.1% to make it a 2.3% day for my first day for the year.
Speaking of reality, Im back to the day job tomorrow so that will have to do for today

This is great. My best wishes that you keep performing better and better.
Coming to your point of 6 years of trading , i would reckon my personal experience because i failed first 4 years of trading blowing around 100k but never gave up and when it all hit me that trading is simple not complicated 100k was one years worth of returns and been doing well since .
Looking at your trades , you are on the right way to financial freedom!

Thank you for the encouraging comments. Not all my trading is as good as I would like. Here I am making mistakes and fading a breakout against my own trading rules and paying the price. Good risk management saves the day while I am messing up so that I am able to recover once I get back in the zone.

I dont usually trade NFP but Im glad I was trading today. Banked 1% and managed to lock in to a runner that I have very high hopes for.

I believe a short move down from 1.2880 is more likely than a break higher this session. My trade plan for the day is to sell above 1.2850 with stops above 1.2890.I will be targeting 1.2830 for the scalp and a longer term target of 1.2730. A break and hold above 1.2990 will void my bearish call for the session and I will flip long to recover to 1.2930. If it reaches that level I will try selling again

Wow, a 150 pips profit, nicely done Mac !

This morning's scenario is probable but I'm waiting for a move higher to get short from a more favorable position.

That said, I love your country I'm long AUD/CHF since 0.92. That's such a sexy trade thanks to crazy SNB and high interest Australia ^^
