I agree, however, if there's an opportunity to grab 30 to 50 pips on a high probability counter trend move, why not go for it? You just have to watch it a lot closer of course. Two days in a row there were chances to make some decent pips to the upside. 20 pips, i.e. 20% ROI, is nothing to sneeze about if you get it in a mere few hours. ... Today is shaping up to the be the third down day in a row this week plus the down action from last week. I missed my chance 5am to jump on the short around 3060, looking at the five minute to go overbought to take a short and get something out of today. With so many down days, a solid up movement good for at least a 100 pips is going to be coming soon. Look out for 2pm EST time frame today, maybe it's today into tomorrow morning? ... Just noticed price is still dropping like a rock, may not get to go short today. oh well, next time.

My take is a little different. The Chinese are really much more internally focused than anybody gives them credit for. They are really not that interested in taking over the world. Keeping up with the demands of 1.3 Billion persons is a full time job.

The Chinese would be very happy if they never had to have their currency freely exchanged. They like being about to control their money. Only the US is pressuring them so they are reluctantly moving towards a fully exchangeable currency. And with their economy set to overtake the US in about 20 years (give or take 5) this will make their currency a reserve currency, and probably the most important reserve currency.

1.2950 barrier breached, new low of 1.2946. Daily trendline support breached and price has touched the daily demand area highlighted with a very shallow bounce so far.

Futures markets continue to get more risk averse throughout the day. They clearly show risk off now with metals, energy and commodities currencies leading the way. Money is flowing into the US dollar and I'm starting to see it flow into US bonds

PT you watching Gold? If I remeber correctly you were looking for 1300 to go long well next stop 1480 if thats broken next support is 1300 right what you are looking for!
Could the sell off be attributed to traders liquidating their trades to cover longs? Or is there something else at play?
