BUBA: “Fundamentally open” to bilateral loans to IMF – Dow Jones

That’s what gave us the pop in EUR/USD.
■ Talking with German govt over modality of loans
■ Loans to IMF mustn’t be earmarked for euro zone
■ Important to observe IMF rules in use of funds

Another factor being mentioned to explain violent pop in EUR/USD is news that China is to create $300 bln fx vehicle. The vehicle is to comprise two funds, one focused on Europe, one on US.

I’d think the BUBA comments had more effect.

that works out to just over 1T in QE a year. This should about do it for 2012.

hi guys been reading this morning that david cameron has said no to the EU treaty.

isnt this a big thing? i have been looking around various sites and thought the fact the UK isnt giving any support to the EU would have a big impact on the markets?

but there doesnt seem to be many people even discussing it?

This is an expected result. The UK does not want to put it's fiscal sovereignty in question. The UK will never adopt the Euro (well never doesn't mean never, but certainly not as long as the EZ has noting to offer them), so they do not need to be fiscally supervised by anyone as their fiscal policy is of no consequence to the EZ.

Czech president wont sign any amendment to treaty as well. Its just the parliament who approves that. It is a shame his mandate is almost finished. Somewhat in the midst of 2013 I think.

No change in the drawing of trend lines or supply and demand zones on the daily chart I posted yesterday.

Down channel has held so far to the upside. Shorter term up channel and possible bear flag broke to the down side yesterday. Price has been unable to get back to the supply zone so far today. Bollenger band mean has held fairly well as resistance the last few days and the outer bands are starting to narrow as price consolidates.

The little "risk on" rally this morning has been pretty much a dollar dumping move with that it easily seen looking at the majors. Many crosses like the EUR and GBP vs the aussie and kiwi are still showing "risk off" even after getting a bit of a "risk on" bump.

Futures are showing "risk on" headed into the NY open.
