not trading, just note taking...

lol, in an effort to research the swing closes more, I opened this can of worms with the mids..hope to collect enough observations this month to see which are more useful...as far as I can tell, both the close and mid of a swing low/high are key, I am interested in seeing the value of following the others...

The key and only issue here is @ a EU/EZ legal and political level.

1st. because of the ECB manadate. The ECB only have the mandate to control inflation not to do anything else

2nd. there are clear and explicit terms in the EZ tha avoid intervening in national problems (debt included)

3rd Germany et al. will need to give the go ahead to for the ECB or any other institution to fully take common responsibility over the problems but that needs Treaty changes (Lisbon and etc) and more importantly a legal and institutional framework to deal with common fiscal issues.

In simple words, the current ECB bond buying program, EFSF and IMF talks are just short term technicalities to tacitly do the same...but without common and legal mechanism to make it sustainable its doom to fail. That's why all the bla bla bla of the latest Merkel-Sarkozy meetings and the expectation for this weekend...They are supposedly going to announce the "NEW" Europe or whatever....

I see it - the mid is capping PA - no close below the mid since on D1.Look at the close price of that day - it's 3 pips below the 2010 low , close on the daily

Watching support for the USD on the Loonie charts...

Seems to be a pretty strong area of support. Continued support here could send EU crashing into oblivion...

Cable charts have hit hourly resistance and we are definitely atta crossroads...

Personally, I side with nobody.

Another thing with mids - I've seen a few times that the mid of a swing bar which stands out will be at a significant close price which was previous to it. Don't know if it means anything to you - but made me smile , since I was looking at closes/mids purely as a leading indi. , a cause rather than an effect.

How could it be used? Well , looking at said significant close ( I'm thinking daily for reliability ) - a break of that level will be either overshoot or breakout. - I guess when we can see it go another 50% past that close price ( 50% more than it's current move on the day ) the RR is pretty damn good to bet on the overshoot scenario

It was pretty stupid for the EZ to set up a monetary system without a lender of last resort. But my key point that participation by the IMF or lack of it is just noise. Foreign CBs are willing to step in and that should do the trick.

generally a mid or close has been violated by a decent amount, depending on TF, I will expire it...I have been studying using some of said expired ones, but would assign a lesser weighting to them

as for the overshoot and extensions, have not done a lot of work in that area, they only ones I have any experience with are the extensions of daily/monthly/weekly ranges...
