Hah, looks like I have missed the action on my way from work. Well, nwm, I wouldnt be shorting from these levels anyway. But as you all probably see at your charts from different angles, we are stuck yet again in the support zone which is on my chart marked as 3384 - 3398.

This was major support zone after last break from 35 area and holded for four hours to break down.

Well the markets are pretty well cooked for today.
I am sure we will have more hopium tomorrow.
I will remain flat until we get that significant correction I am waiting for.

So I'm off to relax for the evening.

Before I go, I just wanted to show the difference in bond yields from before S&P's downgrade warning and after.

Before on the left & After on the right

What? They get a downgrade warning and the yields drop???
Now I've seen it all

UPDATE:

Price reversed at expected entry short point of 1.3539. Well, price pierced those levels to a high of 1.3544. Precision entry. It has dropped by over +140 pips.

given that release is from November 29th, when EUR wad trading in the 3250's and subsequently rose to 3549, do you think that information is outdated? honest question.

more specifically, i get the feeling that while there are certainly some institutional/commercial longs, i suspect many of them are seriously reconsidering this position. liquidity is significantly lower than usual. they are reaching and if that goes bad, i would expect those longs to go short very quickly which will have an enormous impact on the retail traders (me).

That is the problem with the COT. Also, being the futures market, some of those commercials could be long for reasons other than speculative trading.

Agree. Even a .25% cut may be bullish with a sell the rumor, buy the fact as it's expected and probably already priced in.


I believe the market is expecting a rate cut for the Euro thursday even though the economic calenders say it will remain the same.With the way the Euro reacts anymore I can't even begin to figure out how the market would take no cut from the ECB

Bearish because super mario didn't do something or bullish on ????????

Good luck, I'm going to go watch some more TV and take one last look at what happened before I go to bed.

The reduction in the cash rate as a result of the Board's previous decision flowed through to lending rates, which are now around their average level of the past 15 years. Short-term market interest rates have tended to decline a little further in recent weeks, though term funding conditions for financial institutions have become more difficult. Credit growth remains subdued and asset prices have declined further over recent months. The exchange rate has been quite variable over the past few months, but remains at an historically high level.


Overall, the Board concluded, on the basis of all the available information, that the inflation outlook afforded scope for a modest reduction in the cash rate. The Board will continue to set policy as needed to foster sustainable growth and low inflation over time.
