DislikedYes, when there's a substantial distance between the mid-point line and a major level (Main Pivot line, R1, S1 etc.), it's always worth putting in a quarter-point line, because, surprisingly, price does tend to react to these levels.

DislikedVery interesting. Have never heard of anyone using quarter points. I will have a look at this over the next few weeks. If they prove to be valid then it will help greatly when we have a one of those days with a really big range followed by a normal or below normal range day. Sometimes in these cases, the pivots never even come into play.
Cheers for the heads upIgnored
DislikedYou're quite right, Agro. When the distance between the mid-points and the main lines is fairly substantial, it can be a frustrating business. However, using quarterly-lines can make the whole experience a lot less frustrating, thank goodness. If you go to the attachments at the top of the page, you'll find "SDX-TZ Pivots", which can incorporate quarterly-lines whenever you choose.

DislikedWish I had been awake. Being in the EST can be tough. Time to start waking up I think. I did not get any of this, but it took nice ride up and down, based on these pivots. Hope someone caught it.Ignored
DislikedYes, they are off. I think it is because my broker, Oanda, uses Midnight EST as the start of a new day. I have come to grips with that, as long as PA is respecting the pivots I have, I am good with it. I have looked at the pivot indicator I have, but do not have the ability to change the start of each day in it. I suppose I could see how to change the chart....Hmmmm....Ignored
DislikedJust made a nice 20 something pips on eur/usd 5min. Price went up past mid point so i set a buy order on the mid-point. We had a retrace which opened my buy order and then it was not long before price shot up to the pivot R1 which is where i had my take profit.

DislikedIn short after price fell through pivot and retraced to test it. take profit set and next mid-point for 40 odd pipd hopefully. stop loss just above last retrace to the pivot. looking a bit choppy since my screen save!
on the 15 min chart there was some nice divergence before price fell also.
