From the cash point of view I see this link:
US are printing money like idiots so they can have cheaper oil, oligopoly rises prices of oil, US invades. The only one loosing is the rest of the world (To be selfish - Europe). Solution of this would be the end of USD as world reserve currency. I hope this time will come soon.

That's wrong Tom. Money printing drives down the value of our currency and makes oil expensive for us........ It's frigging making everything expensive.

Printing = Inflation = more dollars needed to buy a liter/barrel of oil

We get educated thinking that inflation is a natural phenomenon.
Inflation in things we need, Deflation in things we want.

In times of recession, deflation is just as scary as inflation is during economic booms.

So how does one fight deflation? Lower rates and monetary expansion.

US is doing it. UK is doing it. Japan is doing it. The Swiss are doing it. Europe is next.

ADD: The next ECB press conference should give us some hints as to when that will start... perhaps it will start before the end of the year. Really it has already started. Not by choice but by circumstance. The ECB is buying bonds and has made a commitment to step up it's bond buying activities when it sees that Kermit, Miss Piggy and the rest of the Muppet gang have got something credible put forward to save Europe..
Those who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it

Exactly..... And they lie about the percent inflation is low and how wages have gone up. I think I'll stop there before I go on a rant.

Nope. Thats right what I have just said. It makes the oil expensive after. Thats the whole circle. Fed prints in order to devaluate currency and for this worthless currency wants to buy oil. Market reacts, because he doesnt want toilet paper for oil and rises price as well. It is the same effect like nations inflation race. Either Fed devaluates faster, or oil prices arise faster. I think oil is winning right now though and is arising faster, because not only US does this, but Japan as well and China as well, so they have to rise prices faster than all these nations devaluate their currencies. And yes, it is making all goods more expensive, it is resulting in inflation and unemployment and it is extremely wrong. You may have already noticed here, that I am strictly against inflation. This is the reason.

Actually, if you read history, deflation is far more scary. Just as one example, it was deflation (not inflation) that gave rise to Hitler and WWII.

IMO

A) use the crisis to consolidate power to create a United States of Europe
B) fix the deficit problem through inflation AFTER they have successfully accomplished A)

Ah, who would be the boss and would it be democratic? dunno.

But I do know that Euro leaders basic dialogue goes like this:

The problem...blah blah blah... the solution... blah blah blah... we really need more unity.

Then they go out and pass some more laws that gives them more unity.

I also know that while they can either move forward or backwards on creating fiscal union and a federal government they can't stay where they are with nothing but monetary union. These guys are clearly committed to moving forward.

they are not giving up easily for sure.

i wouldnt be surprised if they come up with final solution.

if they did give them some time to fully recover then we got US in our hands.....
