DislikedYou have the same arrows and candle colour as I do. However, Peter have different ones as hes missing the two arrow that I circled in my previous chart post. The MA is different though, significantly...Ignored
DislikedI used the original template posted on the thread and I did not modify it. I just checked, it is 1.7 as you said.Ignored
DislikedEven the inputs for the Converter are wrong, that's not a 10min chart!Ignored
DislikedHi John...et all...
Does everybody's MA properties look the same as this?
Attachment
If so, then either somebody's broker has been offline...or somebody's terminal was offline...and is missing some candles, and there is a discrepancy between the last 89 periods (Bars), of M10 candles. This is a totally separate issue to repainting.
Repainting aside, broker feeds will vary, therefore MA values will vary (but NOT by the amount johnjwong is showing...somebody has missing data), but overall, it really shouldn't be enough to render...Ignored
DislikedYes you are right, and I think I mentioned that the MA difference is due to my broker's data which broke. However, the arrow and the colour bar are different as well.
For Kenfen: thx for clarifying, it is indeed 10M time frame or else the chart will not look like that. I printscreen on laptop and pasted on paint but I try to show the time/dates so it got cut off, my screen is not big enough to show the whole thing.
In conclusion however, these problems are significant as I can not match my backtest results with the excel file posted on post#1...Ignored
DislikedJust to clarify, when I backtest using 15M it seems like the colour of the superbar doesnt change after being red / green for a long period of time. As a result, I had to refresh all the time. However, when I backtest in 10M, that problem is resolve and color changes.
1 more thing, does anyone know waht timezone was the backtested done? The time was posted on the excel and I want to match my trades.Ignored
Disliked............... So, it is not repainting, IMO.
EDIT: Price closed above supertrend line (GBPUSD chart) and bar colour turned to green. No repainting.Ignored
DislikedI have been forward testing this strategy with original Supertrend indi on the chart since repainting issue was raised. As you all know, when price closes above supertrend indi which is just a CCI indi actually, its colour changes to green and below to red.
The indi was repainting 1 bar previously, the bar colour was changing just one bar before price closes above/below supertrend line. But since the latest fix, I couldn't see that repainting.
At the moment, I am testing visually again against original supertrend indi and right now, if you put...Ignored
Dislikedthe fix i did was to stop the modded candles from repainting in real life trading...real life charts.... still i never modified the original supertrend indy, which i still allowed to repaint...
As long as u dont switch tf, ore open close the chart, the candles cannot repaint because they are not allowed to repaint. when switching tf, the candles are recalculated using the new values from supertrend indy and that can cause a repaint... it is deffenetly causing it in 1 min and 5 minutes.... it is not often, but it`s there.... i am now modifing...Ignored
DislikedThanks for the explanation Micky, but just one thing I don't understand, why do I need to change the time frame? I have my original supertrend indi on 10 min tf as well as your indi and they are working properly. Can you please tell me why do I need time frame change?Ignored
DislikedAs Micky said, this is serious shit. I'm thinking the previous backtest data may have to be re-examined again for the 'non-repainting' supertrend.
Micky, any idea why the PO showing two lines in my chart? Thanks for great work!Ignored
