Swissy still hovering around entry. Depending on the hourly close may be cutting that one. The other two are up.

Figured out what went wrong with Friday's NZD trade - the TMS watchdog alert gives an alert out at the point of crossing, not when a crossing bar closes, which isn't my entry style - I prefer to see the close and gauge the momentum from the price bar. So, the alert is a heads up that if the bar closes across at the end of the period, to consider entry at the beginning of the next period i.e for my purposes the alert is a period early, the angle I should be considering is the angle of the previous period after the cross bar has closed. I misread the things on Friday and ended up being bounced out.

I think its better to trade the violation of the 5SMA with confirmation from the TDI, and some PA common sense than the TDI cross itself.
Reading the "manual" of the 5 strategy, i think this is in fact the way of trading this method. If you have a cross of the SMA in the first candle and the TDI agrees with the direction you enter the second candle.... but no later than the third.

Yeah, I know, that's exactly how I do/would trade it and how I've tested it, it was just that the alerts threw me. It's not so much crossing of the 5 that's important but the momentum behind the bar and seeing how the next bar opens.

Also how have your daily trades been going with this method?

I also noticed that you said you trade the three amigos on H4, but if they all gave you an entry signal would you take it on all of them? They seem so highly correlated at the moment.

A nice start to the week.....121 pips for the day on two trades taken per the rules of the TMS and my own trading plan.

Price stalling at FTA as expected. Closed 50% of the initial position with +300 pips and entered a sell stop past FTA.

Short questions - longer answers.

1. Do you leave your H4 trades open through the NY session? The majority of my H4 trades trigger during the early hours of the London market (All of my trade set-ups are done from 8:00 pm to 10pm PST/PDT - Usually these are pending orders - sell stop or buy stop based on previous fractals and co-incide with a resulting TDI bounce or cross). I am vaguely awake at 04:45 PST/PDT so get to see what is happening with any triggered trades. As I have two trades open for every entry position, with TP set, I may elect to close one whilst making a cup of tea and then leave the charts to do their thing at around 05:00 PST/PDT, depending on current PA and leave the second trade to run, or leave both to run. Again, depending on PA, I may move SL to B/E, so I pretty much ignore NY opening. The next time I'll see the charts is at 08:30 PST/PDT. The majority of my H4 trades typically run from several hours to 24 hours and a few may run to 4 or 5 days depending on SL / TS / TP settings.

2. Also how have your daily trades been going with this method? - The Day chart trades have been running well, although not many taken over the past couple of months - mostly H4 set ups. I enter on the H4 regardless, so for a day chart trade my TP will be be set based on the the ATR(7). I am looking at getting back to the Day charts over the next few months.

3. I also noticed that you said you trade the three amigos on H4, but if they all gave you an entry signal would you take it on all of them? - For correlated pairs such as the 3 amigos, that will depend on the risk/reward. I have traded two at the same time, but I will usually only take the best set up - not keen on doubling the risk at this stage and don't want to run into the over trading issues. For the past 2 months, I have only taken a total of 20 trades per month which was from a basis of 2 trades per entry.

Fractals are something I know nothing about, how much do you think they affect the outcomes of your trades with this method. If you didn't use them, do you think your results would have differed much?

Originally i entered a short, it moved up and i just decided to close it for a loss......
Of course maybe its just your experience with forex that has helped.

Was there a shot on the 4hr EU if not please let me know why not. Similar setups occured on GU and AU as well.

I entered on the second red candle. I thought I was following the rules, but may have missed something.

I assume you are asking about the 2nd trade. The TDI green had crossed but I waited for the entry candle to turn red before entering. Until it turns red, there is a solid chance it will retrace with a green cross back over. You will also notice that PA had tested and failed to break the earlier high indicating it probably would go down.

No, trade within parameters, but not all crosses are the same, the angle of the TDI there is like...meh
And also Asian session, follow thru is always iffy.
Also I fail to see how you can work with that chart, looks like Mardi Gras...he

From a fundamental point of view, there was a political election in NZ on Saturday, so likely volume would have dried up ahead of the results, plus thanksgiving weekend in USA ... All things that can have an impact on how strong a trade will be ...

Also, I've set my alert to only go off at candle close - just set RefreshLastBar to False.

I look at fractals as mini support and resistance levels where the trend breaths and as they are broken, gives additional entry signals.

Because of there coincidence with tdi bounces and crosses, the trade results should match up. I just kept seeing the patterns during all of the extensive backtesting. I have had fractals on my charts for the past couple of years but hadn't figured then out until this year!

The interesting aspect of fractals is that they still appear when the tdi has broken 32/68 as well as Stochastics being in the overbought / oversold regions. This is when the larger S/R levels need to be understood as entering in these regions depend more on a personal feel for the pair.

Phx62.. it is inspiring to look at you trading results. I'm 110% sure that this system is profitable, but i think I, personally, need some finetunning.
I would like to ask you something to clarify something in my head :
In your trade you took yesterday buying EURUSD, 4 hours earlier than your actual entry was a sell signal. You obviously didn't take it. Why is that?

Yeah low volume for sure with US closed
I do have refresh last bar set to false, but to my mind it still alerts too early. It alerts when pink is crossing, not when it's green. I've seen it quite a few times where it alerts and if you observe later the TDi shows no cross, a bounce and no arrow.

Well my EU H1 short got slaughtered

I was a little quicker than you and stopped the euro at +5pips.
Entered long on AUD with +75 pips.
Good results.. but i'm still thinking that my methods are a little rough....
