i like price action trading but i have question for masters of this system i see many examples when you enter a trade against direction of the dragon .... so dragon direction is not essential ? we usually find 1..2 choppy days per week is there any tool to avoid trading in this days ....

I'll try to do my best Still not able to understand what exactly price action is (you calculate where the price will go,like a math rule? hystorical knowledge of the price? both?) but i'll read the thread not as fast as possible, but trying to understand what the traders write

Please forgive me if I am wrong, but isn't price action trading knowing where PA is currently located, where nearest S&R levels are, and if PA is currently at/near one then waiting for PA to start a move to another? And if PA is not currently near a S&R level, then waiting for PA to get near a S&R, and then waiting some more, for it to begin a move to another level? It is basically trading anticipated PA moves from one S&R area to another. Right?

Now, if you refer to me specifically with, "....i see many examples when you enter a trade against direction of the dragon ...." then I hope that you see it no more, unless it is a well qualified Sonic R. counter trend trade, or a well qualilfied SC trade. And I hope there are few of them. Because the classic Sonic R. trend following trade works best, with the least risk. A Sonic R. trade against the trend is riskier. And the SC counter trend trade has the highest risk.

As far as choppy days/what days to trade, watch Sonicdeejay. He suggests skipping Mondays (market getting settled in), looks for trades on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during the London session. And he frequently skips Fridays. If the market is choppy on any of these mid-week trading days, simply sit things out. We Sonikers are looking for selectively good setups, not addiction to being in a trade.

Price action (PA) is just a term referring to price movement in general, not to any specific kind of price movement, not to any specific price "pattern".

Sonikers watch the price action (PA) as it approaches time for the London session, and during the London session. We watch for PA to form a proper WAVE (L-H-HL) for a possible long setup, or a (H-L-LH) for a possible short setup. In other words, we look for PA to make a proper WAVE that might possibly lead to PA bouncing off of, or breaking thru, a S&R area (this is why it is important to know S&R, to see if the WAVE is in conjunction with a S&R area),......in the London session. The odds favor a good trade, if it is with the trend, if the PA WAVE is proper and relative to S&R, and the setup entry area is in the London session.

Hopefully, the attached charts illustrate this "coming together" of PA WAVE, S&R and the London session. For the better trades (with the trend), note the Dragon was angled down and PA was below both the Dragon and the Trend Line.

As far as the length of any run goes, no one knows that. But, it is a safe bet PA will land in a historic S&R area, which is the reason to know where S&R areas are. Additional tools can help. The MT4 FE tool can offer some possible targets based on the configuration of the PA WAVE. The SonicR Chart Panel includes the ability to display whole, half, quarter and even eighth levels between whole numbers. It also includes the ability to display pivots based on your broker server time zone, or changeable to be based on any other time zone, such as GMT. Range high and low targets lines for the day, based on average range, can also be displayed by the SonicR Chart Panel. But all these additional methods must be viewed in conjunction with S&R, which is KING!

Hopefully when you release your SonicR version, the volume indicators will be in purrty colors, heh. Like Nando_Rich, many (including myself) are going to be thrilled at your great work!

And not sure if you do this, but for your trades this week, which i have been following, is it possible if you make a trade, place a note like: 'Classic Sonic' entry? You do this from time to time, but some trades outside of the system can be hard to decipher (which is which). Also, if you do this, you can probably have little info on it and let the new SonicR members try to figure out why you made a the trade. Make it like a 'teacher/student' sort of thing.

Its great for you to fill in the blanks, but sometimes Sonic himself posts one sentence and that gets me thinking, which i learn allot from (pix included)!

If I have a losing trade that went against my predicted direction ,, it doesn't last more than 2 days.. My SL get hit and my capital get preserved.

Once in a while I happened to hold a position over weekend, but I try to avoid this from happening by not trading in Friday.

I am taking your request to heart. It is a good one. A post of a trade would be more educational if the type of trade would be stated, and any other reasons for taking it: bounce/break of some SR, extra high volume during setup, etc.,.....any other reasoning. In fact, if Sonikers were to go thru this process ahead of actually entering a trade, they might find reasons for not trading.

So, with my trades I shall endeavor to label the trade type: Sonic R., Sonic R. counter trend, Sonic Scout,.....or "complete screw up!" () I will also endeavor to state if I see something in particular that I think might favor the trade. And if I don't see anything then maybe I won't t ake the trade. The only disadvantage I see, for me personally, is with the time to prepare the post of the trade. I have tried to post a pic showing the price being the same as my entry price, sometimes having to wait for a pullback to get that pic. I won't be so concerned about this in the future, and will pay more attention to the details of the trade that you recommend be stated.

Thanks for making that request, hunter101. I agree with you, and hope all Sonikers will also do this. If they do, then this thread will take a giant leap forward to becoming a better manual for the Sonic R. System.

The indicators for qqu and nvo are no longer being used, except maybe Basber still uses nvo. Anyway, whatever are the most current releases of these two indicators should be without problems. Most likely it is a broker sever/platform problem. And, if you are having problems on the weekend, maybe without any live data feed, that could be the source of your problems, in which case the problems may disappear when the live feed resumes.

In any case, you did nothing to detail the nature of your problems, so nobody can even begin to help you.

So if someone was interested in learning about this fine system and didn't have the time to read 28,000 posts... what would be the easiest way to get up to speed?

Speculation.....

Price opened with a gap up of about 90 pips. I looks like the asian session BBs are not at all happy with that situation, and are working it down, presumably to load up longs at lower prices. It might bounce up off of the SR area shown (black line). Still, this is not the London session, and there is no telling what the London session will bring. It could bring another deep drive down if they too want lower price once more to load up longs. Same with the US session.

Therefore, this could well be a day to just sit out and watch the market get settled in. On the other hand, there might be a Sonic R. setup in the London session. We will just have to wait and see. There is a USD high impact release today which could bring out either Bulls or Bears.
