i am experiencing the same problem too,even after i re-download the MT4 platform,the same problem stays,damed frustrating!

It is best to email our support (or use phone or on-line chat). This isn’t a support forum and they can solve your issues immediately. Are you talking about a Live or Demo account that you are trying to log into? Is it for Free ECN or Pay for Limits system?

I was having a login problem. Took Justin's advice and used the 'live chat' feature on the MBT website. Spoke with Ron. Apparently, last Friday all MT4 demos were deleted at close of day for an upgrade to the demo envirnment. Ron instructed me to create a new demo account by logging into the MBT website. Click on Demo under account summary then click Create New Metatrader Demo. Did it. Very quick and easy, now up and running. Charts are up but will need to wait until after 5PM to be able to trade. Thanks guys. Very fast and easy. Hope that helps others.

Hi Justin,

as I'm writing 15:37 GMT there's a +20 pip price discrepancy on the EUR/USD between my MT4 US live account and my UK MBT Live Desktop Account.

I have a short position in the UK account and the Mt4 feed shows a price 20 pip better.... This has been going on for more than 10minutes now.

I understand widened spreads because of iliquidity, but aren't we supposedly getting the same feed?? It doesn't look very professional / fair...

Hope to get an explanation about this....

i did as i was told but where exactly do u get the password? i cant seem to be able to find any??

Has nothing to do with fair or unfair. There was news out of Italy this morning that caused a heavy amount of bank pricing activity. The Meta servers were bogged down a bit by the number of updates and were about 20 seconds behind for about ten minutes. Once the market settled, it came back in-line. The quotes were all the same, just a little slow on the Meta side in terms of updating. The data feeds themselves come from the same place.

The password is whatever password you put in when you created your website login. It gets passed through to Meta when you create the Demo account.

I know it was news time, but my understanding was that all clients were connected to the same feed. That's the reason it seemed weird to me, specially because at the moment my position was favored by the lagging feed... No problem, overall I'm a very happy client. Thanks for the clarification

Yes, it is all the same data feed (except the FREE ECN feed, which is completely different). The difference is that the feed passes through different servers to get to MT4 versus Desktop, they aren’t related at all in terms of displaying into the customer software, as they go through completely different processes (Meta versus Desktop).

Also, regarding FREE ECN, you said feed is different. What about slippages? Are they identical to ECN or worse/better?

yes, a couple of times in sept. if you get that message without any reference to your place in line, then I believe support is closed.

I've been messing around with the MBT API recently...

It is interesting to see how often the ask price is below the bid price (ie, negative spread).

In MT4 you can't see this because it appears that MT4 is "adjusting" the bid/ask so the spread is never negative (a "feature" of MT4 I assume). If you think about this, this may lead to consequences with limits and stops within MT4.

Just an observation!

EURUSD from the last 20 minutes or so (using MBT API quotes). At these times on MT4 the spread was never negative:

I've opened MB live forex trading account. Been getting "No connection", "Off quotes" as i've been trying to open trades/close trades/put s/l/put tp.
Why is that? I even can't open my trades, and this is annoying.

Hi justin!

I would like to know if free Ecn and Pay for Limit are in same way connected, I know the feed are different but the order of Free Ecn are in same way routed to Pay For Limit feed? In particular i would like to know if market order of Free Ecn could take Limit order in Pay for Limit.
