These are my two possible scenarios but I am leaning towards number 1 (5 wave correction) due to previously mentioned reasons.

There is an English saying that is "The calm before the storm"
When everything is too quiet, it usually means that a storm is coming.
So it is used here as an analogy.

Ahh good it's working. I called Uncle Tim at the US treasury and told him to sell some 10 year T-Bills or I would go to his house and tell his wife about what he did in Brussels last month

When bond yields go up, it is because nobody wants to buy them.
This is usually negative for the currency of the country but Europe is messed up because in this case it is Italian bonds yields that are soaring and not Euro bonds (They don't exist). So it is hard to make the correlation.
Let's just say it is not good for Italy and if it continues this way it wil not be good for Europe... eventually.
