Looking Good Seller9 you see the 40/60 gives a good view of sleeping currencies vs active pairs.

by looking at the pics and your post here #2046 about the hanover, we will be able to set a desired TimeFrame ?

Also you might want to look at the CROSSES of currencies could be a good option, it gives a good heads up of upcoming moves. don't know how it could be coded or added but just throwing the idea out but then again if one is weaker and the other is stronger means it already crossed.

im not a coder but i have lots of ideas on the Technical aspect

What im testing this week

-a mixed version of your scalp set file and Snowy's on H1 with TDIC1 lower confirmations
-what you mention in a reply to PBH that similar setup but with TDI crosses with a lower TDI mainly for scalping will see how that goes.
-BigE's version with some minor changes on H4 with H1 Trend & TDI confirmations
-And my own setup with Futures

Below are screen shots of a short trade that would meet the rules but should not have been taken. Looking back through the same chart it seems there are quite a few of these.

Long Entry:

In the 15min chart, the 5SMA has to cross the 10SMA, and the TDI green line has to be above the red one - These are the 15min confirmations (but won't execute a trade yet).

Then the EA looks at the 5min chart, and...
This could be done in v19 or a very similar setup

Long Entry:

That's easy.. Timezone settings, that entry is given after the london close (11:30 EST), and I even think that's the asian session... That's not trading time

This is completely different, because it trades the SMAs crosses, not the PA, and the TMS- EA has been made to trade PA, but thank you anyways

Any new coalition will have three immediate tasks: pushing the euro zone bailout through parliament, completing a bond swap which will halve the value of private creditors' Greek state debt holdings, and passing the 2012 budget.


"Papandreou will resign once the new prime minister is selected," he told state NET TV. "We only have to wait for the prime minister's announcements in the cabinet."

but that was for seller9s post, i just re-edited a bit, but your settings i took it from your templates you posted of v10 and put it in a v19 set file gonna look at it again, unless you changed some settings ?

I tried to modify PHB using TMS V19 M15 junction 10 and Sma Sma 5 The robot was put into operation, but I'm not sure if I put the correct output. Could be controlled by you, please. I attach a txt file

This in my interperation on the Currency Strength incorporated into each pair.

It consists of a currency strength indicator (at the bottom), which I found from a spreadsheet version said to be from Tom Yeomans, and had it transformed into a MT4 indicator. After many revision it becomes the present form.

The important object we are looking at is the "GAP", which is the different of the individual currency strength (on a scale of 0 to +&- 9). Positive numbers for UP (green) and negative numbers (red) for DOWN direction. In between you have the adjustable yellow zone.

On it's right is the current candle color of that TF. And on the extreme left is the Spread.

There are a lot of CSMs around the internet, some are line graphs and some are digital readout windows showing strength and GAP, they are for the most part based on the same equations. The first one below is from the Henry Liu site and the second one is the !ixMeter version, but there are many more, some use Xcel to create a Spread sheet. The one I am going to use in the EA is the one by Hanover. Hanover has created the "Recent Strength" indicator that creates a CSV file that can be read by Xcel or in my case is being read by the Hanover EA plug in Module. All the data for all the time frames and Currencies are contained in this CSV file. The Module reads this file and from its calculations then sends a Buy or Sell signal at the programs request. Hanover has used the range of 0 to 100 for the Gap and by the use of High and Low Thresholds you can decide what size Gap you want there to be between the Strong and the Weak currency in your Pair. It also looks at the slope of the Strength graph line to determine if the Gap is increasing or decreasing, this is selectable. To see just what Hanover is doing I have created the Bar Graph that shows all these settings and results, a image was posted a few posts back. It does take some CPU Cycles to run the indicator but I have found no problem with it on my Quad HP, I haven't seen it go over 15% usage. I will be testing it this week on H1 Charts and H4 Charts on 12 pairs each with similar settings to the Scalping settings. With the Hanover setup you can also select more than one time frame so you can have 1 - ? time frames and they would all have to give a Buy or Sell signal for a trade signal to be placed. I will just be using a single time frame for the initial testing to see what happens. This Module has already been installed in several other EAs by Steve which they are also testing, so you may want to go over to one of these sites and read up on just how they are doing. There are other EAs that also use similar Strength line Graphs and are trading only based on the Gap between the two currencies and the Strength getting stronger for one currency and Weaker for the other in the selected pair (thats the idea behind using the slope) and they are having good results. This is something that has been around for a while but not in use by many traders, I believe Max is using such an animal, time will tell and hopefully it will help the TMS EA.

If anyone else is using such an animal to improve their hit rate please let us all know how you are using it and if it has helped to improve your trade results.

What time frame are your GAPs calculated from in your screen shot?

I suppose I didn't.. but here are the Timezone settings, each one of you should change:

The EA uses your local timezone so you'll have to change that manually:
I'll be using the EST for the example

Morning hours: 2-12
Evening hours: 12-13

so yeap.. it basically trades from the asian close (02:00 EST) till a little bit after the London close (13:00 EST)

Here's the template, just to be sure

Just change those times to your local time, and be sure to check around if we are buying, selling or doing both today..

I haven't finished with my research yet... but I think we're playing both sides tonight

thanks PBH, but it would be better if you post your SET FILE from the experts / presets Folder just change .set to .txt to be able to upload it here.

i can still get the settings info inside the template but it's easier for everyone to just post & load the set file.

The values in the GAP are independent of any time frame. (Neither can I find anything mention in the excel spreadsheet).

Just trying to figure out the best way to go. Hanover has a different graph for each time frame and they are all different. The other thing I noticed was that the lines are not centered around the midline of 50. So you can have 2 currencies in the upper or lower part of the graph that are moving apart and the GAP increasing. I wonder if these are tradeable????
If you use the threshold settings they would fall outside this area. Reading on other forums they trade these other areas and the strongest does not have to be above the center line and the weakest below. So maybe someone can shed some light on this and what do we want to add to the EA????
Seems like maybe GAP size and an expanding GAP size (Slope) would be what we want, the thresholds would not be of any use and may miss some of the trades if both currencies were on the same side of this area, like if they were both on the strong side but had a nice Gap and were moving apart.

Fully agreed. Should we look at Henry Liu's CSM or other xMeter, they are independent of TF, and their advice are looking for maximum GAP difference, for trade entry in order to have max. gain.

Dear Seller9

A number of traders (including myself) still trade if one currency is around the 50 line. IMHO since we are using a number of indicator in TMS, we should use the Hanover module to ensure that we are not trading opposite the prevailing long TF trend, otherwise we will severely restrict the number of possible trades . If we were trading purely recent strength indicator and support and resistance then what you propose regarding the 40 to 60 zone would make sense. One way round this is to make the zone user selectable and we cane compare results.
