By mistake I pasted this into Google:

It's a leading indicator of consumer spending because retailer and wholesaler sales are directly influenced by consumer buying levels;

It was copied from Forex factory's news calendar. You wouldn't believe how many Forex sites popped up with exactly the same phrase. Where did it originate? Do we care? The originator might.

Do we care?
Ignored
Hi Smikerster, we here at Forex Factory care. We are the originator of this research and writing. Everything written on our calendar is 100% researched and produced by our team. Hundreds of websites have ripped our hard work without regard.

Some sites that come up in the Google search, such as finexo.com, instaforex.com, and forexpros.com, you'd think were too reputable to be copy&pasting someone's work. There are even bigger sites that change around a word or two to make it "their own" - I won't mention their names but it's easy to spot.

We have largely ignored this but in recent months have started exploring how to deal with this problem.

Twee, see that FF hires an attorney to go after the copycats.

I recommend Michael Brandow. Based on the fact that he is an attorney but more importantly that his looks are intimidating.

Who would mess with that fellow staring at you?

If they've copied a substantial part (a certain amount is required to demonstrate originality, or lack there-of) of your material you can file
a DMCA takedown request with their host. It's very easy, a few faxes, done and done.

They'll either have the material taken down, or they'll file a request to have it re-instated. With the latter, if the material is still present
then you should be able to request a copy of their counter filing and use that to target a lawsuit. For that, obviously, get an attorney.

Yes I could see that one coming a mile off!

Forex factory: This is what you should do. Find a lawyer who'll write and send 20 letters for $500.00 or whatever.

The letter should say something like: It has come to our attention... blah blah. Please apply to Forex factory for advantageous subscription rates or face your inevitable doom in the courts.

Or whatever it is these scumbag lawyers say...

It's amazing how fast stuff gets indexd at FF too. Lees than an hour for moste stuff like this post. That may be why FF gets ripped off so much.
Do not focus on making money; focus on protecting what you have.
