75.62 in premarket ! But, beware of mr Azumi who swore that he would take bold action as soon as excessive moves occur. Question remains:

what's excessive ? 77.50 - 76.50 - 75.50 - 71.50 - 65.50 ? I have the impression that he lowers his point of action every week. LOL

Fact of the matter is that they are desperate and haven't got the faintest on how to depreciate the Jpy. Markets sense that and will move this pair down, for sure ! Unless .... Boj steps in ;-)

Word of advise for mr Azumi; go and try to get G20 support in Cannes Nov3-4. Good luck !!!! lol

my SL is set on 75.58 and 75.48 ...This will be my last try if it goes to my SL

1/3 of initial short position is still going strong, thinking about adding.
Question is where, at 76.00 or will it not even get there anymore before I leave ?

Going to sleep over this 'problem' and decide tomorrow at London open at the latest as I will be in Rome from Monday evening till Friday morning.

maybe its your target,but it would be extemely stupid for them to do intervention and not raise dollar to at least 85,other interesting thing if compared to the usd/chf and jpy/usd pairs before they took serious intervention,it looks like jpy could even spike to 65-69 lvl,if there wont be intervention in the 74-72 zone

Raising it to 85 is simply impossible because of the vast amount involved in such an operation. The USD/JPY is one of the top 3 traded pairs !

Pegging is out of the question.

Noda's en Azumi's approach is working counter productive. Shouting, complaining and especially threathening to take bold action for weeks/months and do NOTHING is not exactly the smartest strategy out there. The first threath could scare markets and even the second one could make them shiver ... the 9th one however ......

I, for one, am not surprised to see the Yen keep on strenghtening. Simple psychology ;-)

well chf managed to raise it from low 70 to 85,but if speaking which country has more resources to do that then i dont know really ,only i said 85 that from technical side the downtrend would be somewhat broken.

USD/JPY - is hitting record low of 75.311 on EBS this morning as traders triggered sell-stops and pushed pair down in thin NZ trading to instigate Japan MOF response.

I don't expect BOJ & MOF taking any action to weaken the Yen. The only way they will intervene is that there is a sudden break of support & USD/JPY reaches 70-71. Even at 70 the big speculators will do the job for them. I see USD/JPY dropping to 70 or 71 in a matter of minutes then the big boys will take profit & reverse the price to 74-75. The traders who are long USD/JPY will lose their account when this sudden surge to 70-71 happens. These retail traders will start going short at 70-71 level but the big boys will reverse the trades back to 74-75 & most of the retail traders will lose their account again then & then only the final direction will be determined by BOJ & MOF. They are in fact part of this big scheme
