guys,

does the spider_hanover ea take any trades today on your machine?

i have set it up on M5 with H4 trigger, slope 1, threshold 0,0 but it didnt take any trades today..
Ignored
Tex, I am using the All Averages setting ootb and its trading away. Im up 8% in 3 days on only 2 pairs, eu & au. I added 3 more pairs today to see how it performs. Im still tweaking the exits though. Martingale is very scary and so far have not went past 4 levels, which I think is my max.

Ignore the error message. No to the suffix thingy.

My demo Spider with Hanover set to D1 took a buy trade. I do not have slope of threshold enabled.

The trade is heading hot-foot towards oblivion. Immediate observation: the D1 RS is irrelevant to an M15 trade. This backs up Lawgirls assertion that we should be trading charts with a 1:4 to 1:6 relationship. Therefore, trading Spider, I should be looking at Hanover H1.

On the H1, EUR and USD are sloping back towards one another. Had my H module been set to H1 with a slope confirmation of 1, this would have prevented the trade - which just hit its stop.

Of course, we all know what will happen the next time Spider refuses a trade because the H1 RS readings are against it.

Latest update in post 1 - fixed for the logic error I described in the Hanover thread.

Would someone care to experiment with using Hanover and turning off AllAverages?

Fantastic. Thanks.

I cannot be the only one here worried about the Martingale aspect of this system. I would be stunned to discover that I am the only one wanting to convert to an, "I am right or I am out" system that does not rely for its success on doubling up lot sizes every time there is a losing trade.

I am 'worried' about the M in the same way as I would be 'worried' by the knowledge that an asteroid the size of Mars in on an irrevocable collision course with Planet Earth, and that deflection is not an option.

A point that lawgirl21 makes cogently (http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=320335) is that we should be trading timeframes with a 1:4 to 1:6 relationship. So, if trading the M15 chart a la Spider, we should be ascertaining our overall trading direction from the H1 chart - a 1:4 tf relationship.

This makes huge sense to me.

On t'other hand, many others state that the overall trend as demonstrated by the D1/W1 chart is the one we should be observing.

This also makes hege sense to me.

So, given that Basic Spider is shooting for 30 pips on the M15, am I more concerned with the H1 or the D1 trend?

Or should I simply be asking whip for a few more chickens for ritual sacrifice?

So Mike, do you have the spare capacity to set up two demos? Both trade the M15 without Martingale. Equivalent lot sizes and start balance. No AllAverages to replicate spiderforex's original stragety. Set up Hanover thus:

  1. TimeFrames = H1. SlopeConfirmationCandles = 1.
  2. TimeFrames = D1. SlopeConfirmationCandles = 1.

Account and trade size are irrelevant, so long as they start off the same.

To anyone else: there is only so much demo capacity available to one individual, so if anyone here is able to run the above test with added AllAverages, then even better.

Cheers Mike

Have you seen Mike's response? No point in duplicating tests, given the way that H hogs resources.

Fabulous. Mike and blazko are covering the ones I am most interested in, so let your creative juices flow.

How do you fancy testing scalping the Asian session with different take profit targets?

Alex, if you have some spare capacity, some help at http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=312936 will be great. Aurora started really well but did not survive. It would be great to see if H can offer a new lease of life.

My post at the end of the thread tells people what I think about using H with A. The M30 might be too small a tf, so maybe testing the H1 as well.

Cheers

Steve. I will set them up for the Asian session tonight. We had some huge storms here and I had no Internet at my beach house to connect to the VPS . My apologies. On it now. Fwiw my current 15min only runs from start of London until mid day US session. It will be interesting to compare the results.

Brilliant. Cheers.

Glad the storms did no worse than knock out the power and internet for a while.
