With the Seller set, I am also experimenting with having Steve's MPTM set running the trailing stop for this reason: MPTM has a setting which allows you to tighten this stop at predefined levels. So you can have a trailing stop of 30 pips kick in when the trade starts, then have that...
I am testing several things that would let the EA run to get the most out of the trade without having to scalp. Its not a trailing stop but would work like one of the Close Trade settings already in place. That way the Broker doesn't see it. It looks for a reversal and just lets the trade run until it sees the reversal and then exits. It works nice on the long runners and gets you more pips but you still need to stay out of the short runs that reverse to quickly, of course the way around that is go to a higher time frame, thats why I like the H1 or above as you get more movement per candle, those short time periods, M1 and M5 and even M15 are OK but I think are more suited to manual trading and will drive you crazy, of course the Brokers love them. Even just scalping 12 pairs I can get over 30 trades in one London session, so I think thats enough to make money if you manage your money and get out of the reversals quickly, thats the key. Its hard to pick the best trades as I have seen some great setups, only to have them turn right around and bite you.

im working on some, just yesterday i missed the 200/300+ pip move on both the A/U & A/J because i played so much with the settings and i have 5 setups runnning i forgot to input my AUD trading hours which is Tokyo open overlapping AUD 20/24 EST (30 min charts) also you can see before i changed the settings i had 2 small losses on the 15m LOL

That sounds great, Seller9.

While I do think that runners are best, I think the ability of an EA to distinguish when a trade is reversing, and when it is simply taking a breather are limited.

But if you can come up some logic that can achieve that, then that would be really amazing.

What I like about your set is that it looks for set ups on the more-stable H1, but it then takes little "bites" (often two or three) out of one single move. The SL (which I have closer than your original set) is not so big as to be scary, and each "bite" banks some more money.

Anyway, it is working well right now, and we will see whether the MPTM addition I am running will make a difference in reducing the scale of losers.

please can you share your setting modifications for the seller9 H1 scalp setfile, i intend to try that in conjunction with your MPTM settings

for the MPTM settings you have:

•Initial trailing stop = 25 pips
•Trailing stop at 50% to TP = 20 pips
•Trailing stop at 80% to TP = 10 pips


the initial trailing stop as above, is that the first trailing stop function in MPTM ie the one that says simply 'trailing stop'?

also, if you use MPTM do you have to disable the candlestick trailing stop in the main EA settings?

Yes, I have the candlestick trailing disabled, as I am getting MPTM to handle all that. My MPTM settings are as you stated, with trailing stop and instant trailing stop switched on - both for good measure .

I have changed the news settings to only high and speaks, trading hours 8 top 17 GMT. TP multiplier is 0.5 and SL is 1 * ATR - that's it.

I am demoing on ATC.

I think the market will fall at the asian close, and come back up after the london open to test the swing highs.

Hey guys,

I installed v19 and have it running 0-24 to test I'm having trouble with it recognizing stop loss values. For example in the AUD/CAD it won't set up the initial stop loss when opening a trade and then when it tries to move to BE I get an invalid stop loss error.

I noticed this pair is only 3 decimal pts so don't know if this might effect it.
Anyone have any ideas.

no problems here with aud/cad. maybe your stoploss is too tight?

by the way: i have 5 digits (decimal pts) in aud/cad.

What a knucklehead. I was looking at the wrong chart when I wrote that...yes, my A/C is 5 digits.

I have the ea running on 4 pairs and all seem to be working but a/c. If you could provide your current set file maybe I can see where I'm off.

I could follow the screen today so i just turn the EA off.
After i got beaten yesterday (tms log) decided to not leave the bot when im gone

Would you mind sharing your current set and pairs which you trade?

EURJPY, GBPJPY, GBPUSD, EURUSD... there's nothing better like having your newswire on, read the EurAnalysis thread, and do naked trading, because the TMA rules will keep you out of some trades.

I attached a template that includes the settings... I change the settings as the market does... so, you'd better come around here before the asian close to check that (02:00 EST)

One important thing is the time settings, the EA uses your PC time (not your metatrader time), so these are the hours: morning hours = 2-12 EST evening hours= 12-1 EST... since my local hour is EST-1, I have these time settings (see pic below)
