I think we'll see some profit taking as the market realizes there are some huge black holes in the European Bailout, and it might hit the fan a lot sooner than the 2 years I hear some analyst saying its been kicked down the street by today. I'll probably put a small position on it, would have gone larger if it wasn't the Asian time frame coming up.

Oh there will definitely be some profit taking. I can guarantee it. Unfortunately I can't keep my eyes open and I'd like to sleep knowing I don't have to worry about what the Euro Hopiumists are doing.

I didn't. I ate popcorn waiting for the whole thing to come crashing down, but it didn't. I still enjoyed the show though.
I was at the Oanda site a little while ago looking at their graphs of open orders and positions.
Take a look at the open positions. It seems there are still quite a number of traders underwater with their shorts. There are also still a few underwater longs.
All in all there are more traders underwater than in profit.

Well that's my long trade I mentioned a few pages further up managed to a close. Very pleased with that trade.

Moved the stop up to 4210 at a location you can see on the image below off the 15m chart.

Very pleased with that result for today.

Hi PT,
Today has been a very exciting day with the euro exceeding most peoples expectations. I understand that there is usually a pullback after such a bullish run - so far it seems to have pulled back to the 23.6% level. In your opinion is it probable that this is all it will pullback before going further?

The reason I ask is, the news from europe seems to be far above what most people expected and there does appear to be a chance of this solution working. If that's the case, isn't the euro bull run going to continue (especially in relation to the USD) ?

Looking at the 4H EU chart there was a lovely bullish pin bar completed. I've seen it too many times over the past weeks when this happens in line with the up trend, that once price breaks the top of that pin bar, a nice continuation move has happened more often than not. So I entered above the high of said pin bar, with a first target just below the RN of 41, at 4090.

A semi-told-ya-so yessterday... (sorry couldnt resist, though even with expecting this - kept expecting it to crash at any moment as well)

I wouldnt jump on heavy shorts just yet either, I still expect another bump up past 1.43.

Interesting you posted the JP Morgan thing yesterday - we're about on their 'strategy high'.

Anyway - this is the mess Im working off...
D1 projection from 13 months ago.
H8 zoom in on recent action to highlight the crossovers. High today missed one by only a few pips, though not the one I expewct as the eventual high.


Anyway - food for thought perhaps?

Just in case this is the actual high, open first small short just after the high for a long term trade (well into decemeber I would guess...).

I'll be taking a short before morning after today's unexpected jump to current levels.However,I doubt the short long lasting one so will TP before the end of the day.It's likely that after the morning session we'll see a slight pullback into the weekend.

Next week............?????? Well thats another story.

I see that EURUSD is at 1.4190. It is 23.6% reversal of down movement from 1.4546 to 1.3143. Now it is good time to wait for sell signal.
Shur the EURUSD can go up, but I wouldn't buy now.

Wierd - why dont they just wait for a good entry, unless adding small just-in-case type positions now?

Though now is *far* better than yesterday

OK, I know I do that shit (just in case position because I dont know if its the best entry or not), but im a relative n00b and TBH you would think those people would know better?

it would seem that the thing that was important about the decision is not the size of the package.or that there are holes in it.
The thing that was important is that Germany is now fully committed. There was always the possibility they would go back to the Deutsche Mark.

The cost of supporting the periphery countries not internationaly competitive. A transfer union where money flows out of Germany to keep afloat others (EFSF that never ends)

also Germany is a nation of savers without inflation hedges such as real estate (most rent) The periphery countries used to rely upon devaluations any time their economies weakened. Italy and Greece are notorious for that. So a hard currency country such as Germany is being paired with soft country's. That is still one of the big points for Euro bears, incompatiblity.
Always the chance the ECB just starts printing if the periphery countrys get control of it. Remains a very volatile issue.
