After I watched 23 Oct conference by mistake, I noticed what might been one of the hopium reasons - this guy looks like he was so confident in his words, and seemed so happy and relieved, that in fact I got a "there is no crysis" feeling for a moment.
Maybe "deep pockets" have similar feelings?

But we laugh off EZ politicians. As I mentioned, I don't blame them too much or consider morons, as probably most of people couldn't help the situation either. But each of them is a public person - and being one means, that people are granted right to laugh at your moves on Internet forums to have better mood
Especially, if this public person annoys them, or make something what they disagree with - then being a target for many jokes is a part of the job.
