Fortunately, this Eurocation has not been as expensive as it might have been, but humbling it has been. I am using a somewhat less volatile Ultrashort Euro ETF in my "real" accounts, i.e. actual sums of cash and not play money. Starting to build a position now in that. I have also put on ultrashort ETF positions on Dow30 (yesterday), and Oil (late today).

Today should have been a snipers paradise for you with this nice sideways move with good swings.

We had big earning miss again this afternoon and the italian news and the euro is going back up again. Someone really hates the dollar.

Today we had really bad news, major negative economic news, and the markets down and the euro barely dropped. I give up

It seems the euro only correlates to the dow and s & p on way up. On way down there is some correlation but not as much. If there was a 200 point gain on the dow euro would be up 150-200, today it went down 200 and it dropped 30-40.

I read the same thing about the french banks. My guess is all the talk about the fed printing has scared people away from the dollar to the yen and gold.
I think we will find out tomorrow. Amazon just missed and is off 15% already in after hours, gave crappy guidance too. Amazon will likely drag down other retailers as if the 4th quarter isn't looking good there, it may be a negative other places too.

Well, it makes sense if the French Banks are buying euros to recapitalize, they'll be buying at any cost.

There are many many things going on at the moment. Try to let the price action guide you. No person out there for sure knows what is going on. There are two many factors now. Gold shot up $50 Oil went up big.

The Dow went down. The YEN is too strong. Let the markets lead the way. Try to be patient and stay in cash. Let us see how Merkel handles the vote. Let us see GDP numbers in the USA.

Those are my thoughts and I am being patient and waiting for a good trade opportunity. Let us see what Europe brings and how the markets react. You can be sure the FED is sitting there moving the pieces around short term.
