Well I dont think so. Why are nations trying to lure investors to their country? Because wages stay there, taxes stay there, unemployment lowers. People will spend money (consumer spending which is US missing so heavily now), government will spend money. And there goes Chinas incredible HDP. China profits the most from having those companies there.

charts are overated.
only thing that matters is if it goes up, goes down or goes sideways.
can follow that by watching price off the trading platform.

Macro picture is a very important part of the puzzle. Me, I read every word you macro gurus write. I'm learning a lot.

Looks like on the H4 its setting up for a possible Head and Shoulders. If so, I think we might see it down in the 3390 area. Just my 2 cents. What do you guys think?

It is a fact that when you buy a Nike shoe the majority of the profit goes to Nike, not to the Chinese worker that made that shoe.

Of course, it is good for China and bad for the US. So why does the US allow it? Very simply because it is in the interest of the American multinational. It is not in the interest of the American economy though.

I see on the market - big deals. Likely to buy futures traders actively. The only thing that worries me - it's 1,381 to 1,383 - it may be resistance.

I think I hope so? I would be more convinced if anything but apple was down on the dow.

Everything I have thought for two days macro has been right, trading wrong, so who the hell knows. My problem was, I couldn't even follow my own advice well.

because if they don't allow it, Nike would not be competitive in the global market place and would become insolvent. That would be worse for the American economy via less corporate tax revenues which translates to higher individual income tax. Now imagine if all the other American companies that manufacture their product in China meet the same fate. Goodbye American dream. So the alternative is to debase the US dollar so that America can be competitive with China as a manufacturer/exporter economy... but the Chinese just keep the Yuan pegged so the purpose is defeated. Hence the trade / currency war.

I could go on and on about this but I have some olive pickers to whip

That's my take on it.

One thing I will add, it is the 4th quarter. The 4th quarter means there are going to be dollars chasing investments and hedge fund managers who are under water for the year need a big rally to the finish to look respectable. Money on the sidelines will be taken out of safe instruments and put to work. The dow and EURUSD trade in still a fairly tight correlation. If Dow isn't going down, Euro isn't going down.

I do not like the price action on the dow as a trader thinking the Euro is going down. I closed out my short and am playing for at least a short term bounce back to 1.382 or so. I think dow runs out of steam around 11650 and then might see a minor correction if it fails to break through that level.

I am only bachelor in economics and I am still learning. Learning macros for five years now, but I still see it as too few. Thats why I debate here, because I want to evolve. AW there is always robotics as the answer to vast hordes of cheap labor.
But then there would be major civil strife as how to earn a living becomes a problem for many.

So the solution is to use technology to raise the standard of living for all.
But political decisions are driving production technolgy employment.
The old saw about idle time being the devils workshop holds true.

If the Socialists could get it through their heads that capital is not for redistributing but for creating wealth, the world would be better off.
