Like everyone and their mom, I think this pair will eventually go up. However, I wouldn't be surprised if a new low or two is formed before we begin to rise. I'm starting to think the rise may come in December when volume decreases and large corporations start closing out their annual books and doing their accounting tricks. This only speculation on my part.

A break of the support could pull UJ down with it.

I reckon that this will bump along for a while as it is with daily spikes, how long that will las is anyones gues, but I do believe that the end result is a long one.

Not much action lately....I presume a down trend towards
new historical lows before any upswing....as long as 78.00
is intact....

(i don't trade YPY pairs actually but i guess there is an opportinity in JPY)
there is a news from Japan government speaksman about JPY value ? is it correct ? so when it will happen ? on sunday , with the Japan session opening ? thanks and regards.

I agree. It seems that way. As of Friday all JPY crosses that I've looked at are now sitting a few (10~20) pips above downward sloping trend lines that began in April this year. They had many hours to get back under those TLs if the breakout was "false", but seem to have been held up. This pair (UJ) has moved sideways for so long now that I suspect a quiet and continual intervention has been under way to establish a base level, slowly moving it over to the TL that it's now sitting on/above.

If UJ is going up because of some BOJ policy announcement, then I certainly wouldn't be expecting any 2000 pip fireworks display, but maybe a modest 100~200 pip jump to the first resistance before falling back to find TL resistance turned support. And then slowly up from there ....
