I have also read more than a few times that some people have trouble determining the correct TDI angle for entry. I wrote a little indicator that tells the TDI angle in degrees. Per the rules buy if angle > 60 deg and sell if angle < -60 deg if the other entry criteria are met. I find it takes a little of the guess work out of determining the TDI slope for entry.

I just hope it is useful for someone. Two things I forgot to mention. You have to have the TDI Red Green indicator in the indicator folder for it to work. Also if you attach it mid-candle the the Green line and the angle may not match up until after the new candle is formed as it would be pulling updated line information. You could either wait or refresh the chart to get them to match up.
It should be fine after that and will only update the angle on each new candle.
Hey Dean, see your still at bro. You have the patience of an Elephant. I'm sure Big E is gratefully for all your doing here. I use this method to this day for it's my most sound of all when used the correct way. Its really as simple as it's made out to be..

If you look at the TMS indicator forum, you will find a discussion about how the TDI Red Green indicator has a bug in it. Just wanted to give you a heads up if you're going to base your new indicator on that one. Xaphod is the coding genius, I'm sure he could help you out, good luck.

Many thanks, I'll give it a go, I currently also use TMS Watchdog but always looking for the simpler method!
Hello Big E and forum members.

I was very impressed with the simplicity of this system and have been back testing it all day. I used the EURUSD on the daily chart and would like to share my excel spreadsheet for those who want to verify my work. I'm not able to upload it along with this post because i don;t have enough storage space on my account. Please PM me.

I chose a random start date of 4/15/2010 and tested it all the way till the last available candle on 10/03/2011.

I gained 1900+ pips and had a max draw down of 2.6% of my account. Not bad at all.

62.5% winners and 37.5% losers (i didn't account for any of my B/E trades in the win/loss calc).

I modified the original system a bit for exiting the trades but followed all the entry and trading rules as outlined on page 1.

I'll post results for another currency pair as soon as I can get some more testing done.

I look forward to your comments/suggestions/help to make me a better trader.

Couple of things, so many indicators, how can you see what price is doing?

Seems that was placed maybe an hour before London Open before the direction of the day has begun?

Here is how I would play that; place a Pending Order "SELL STOP" below a recent low by a few pips, let price come to me, it will be going in the right direction then, as it is now, you have to endure the trade going against you but still might work out for you, can come down hard...

I, for one, would be interested in seeing the results. I PM'd you separately. To gain 1900 pips in that time frame roughly makes for 86 pips a week. That seems reasonable, but maybe a bit low. It may have to do with you running it on a Daily timeframe. Did you, or will you, run it on a 4 hour?
I would be interested in hearing how you modified the exit and if you were running multi-lots with different targets or single lots with single targets.
Thanks for taking the time to do this. I think backtesting is a major step towards success in this venture.
Also did you do any 'optimization' with the Strategy Tester, or just base code?
