Are you serious? I think you know that the welfare system is neiher the cause nor the solution to the problems in europe. The welfare system is a good thing (if not abused as in some countries) and gives consumming power to the not so fortunate. A Mortage crisis as far is i remember was the problem, europe bought the US crap...

Furthermore you bash greece a lot: the EU and all its 'big guys' knew about the financial situation of greece before they joined the EU (even the Brits knew, Junker even apologized for lying to the public about Greeces situation.

Sorry but Greece is just a scapepig...as is the welfare system.

Well you are going too much on the political economy of the problems more that the economic or financial causes of the current crisis and the implications for trading.

I leave the discussion of what system is better or has the moral ground for a different forum as the over 50 million US citizens living below poverty line will have a completely different point of view of those who overpay more than 70% of stratospheric income taxes in Europe ...

In any case, I must agree with delpes on that one. Greece and welfare system are just a scapegoat ...the real causes have their roots in other macroeconomic structural issues (macroeconomic mismanagement, financial regulation and v poor and corrupt financial management in banking industry across the globe not only in the EZ).

Well yea, I am serious. Although welfare system is not the only cause of trouble. It is much more complex and I just cant simply describe it in english. But second root of trouble is keynesyan economy, which is kinda connected to that welfare system. Or to be more precise, keynesyan economy twisted by socialistic goverments into simple equation fiscal stimul = hdp. Part of those fiscal stimuls is welfare model, and as an economist, I just simply cant agree with that. I dont want any retirement from state, I dont want my state to care about my health, because he just cant handle it because it is gigantic bureucratic machinery which only costs money. I want to save my money for my retirement and pay my own health insurance, screw the state. Yea, I am an antisocial bastard, screw me as well.
