Welcome to the thread and thank you very much for your post. However, I prefer for the trendline indicator to remain in the window with the candlesticks because it makes it easier to guage the strength of a movement. Also, you still need Goldminer indicator in a separate window because it is the guage for market price action emotion.

I am just now coming back online for this week. Yes, the tidying up is nice but I think it is better for the trendline indicator to remain in the candlestick window because as the candlesticks cross the trendline is an important indicator of movement strength and can help one guage, (then there is a signal of all 4 in alignment) a point where entry if good or if you missed the primary signal a good secondary point of entry in a movement.

It could be an issue of preference, but for me it makes it less confusing to have the trendline in window 1 with the candlesticks.

Of the 4 indicators, only is the cycle indicator that has a bad issue of repainting in my opinion. I have not seen the others repaint other than the extreme indicator nor have I heard of any issues with the other 3 indicators. I am still working my account off the original setuip from post #1 and following those rules.

Thank you and you are welcome. I am unfamiliar with the kelly trendline indicator and if the setting are more sensitive then you will have more of an issue with false spikes that may throw your orders off. THis can cause you to place bad orders that result in a loss to your account.

I suggest that if you feel strongly in using this other trendline indicator you run a test with it in a chart and have the original system in a chart running next to it and compair the two. Then after a week of live trading and observation you should beable to make a decision based on the results you see.

Then let us know and make a post with screenshots so we can see also. (please post at the end of the week)

If you place an order and the price actions fails to move over 30 pips before reaching an opposite extreme spike then that is your signal to close the order because the directional move is not strong enough and the price action is most likely to reverse. You would just follow exit strategy (1).

Unfortunately, I do not think that a non repainting cycle indicator exists. However, based on your statements the EA does work under the Exit Principle of Exit Strategy (1).

Is it possible to make the EA close only 1/2 an order and follow a trendline colour change closing like in Exit Strategy (2)??

My 20c worth with the EA would be a trailing stop with multiple TP levels. You have tested a 50 pips Sl which has not been hit. Use this with a TP @15 ,30,50 and trail the final lot till stopped or another order taken in the opposite direction. All other indicators lag and sometime price can move quitea long way prior to a colour change.
Personally i would be happy to seta a Nominal TP and close the trade at that. If this is your daily pip goal then trading has finished for the day.

From what i have seen and traded this system it has never failed to reach at least 13pips profit befor going on or reversing. Not much you say but several times a day over the majors equates to a whole lot of pips.http://www.forexfactory.com/images/icons/dollar.gif

As I stated in an earlier post, Cycle Indicator is just a marker point out extreme topping in a market price action. It can never guage the final top or bottom of a movement because it can only look backwards to deterimine those extreme points through repaints. (it is the nature of the beast for this backward looking indicator)

The market will always make last gasps and weezes in effort to continue in a direction before price action failure that is what makes the market so unpredictible and hard to give you clear entry points right at the top and bottoms of a movement.

You have to use Cycle Indicator for what it is....a signal flare that says we are approaching an Extreme Point and you need to begin to look to the other indicators for a order entry point signals when Extreme, Emotion, Sentiment, and Trend all line up.

Again, while I would love to have a non painting extreme indicator, the missing link, I do not think there is one out there. Also, zigzag does not show clearly to what degree of extreme a movement point it. (the difference between a non painted and painted extreme spike) Therefore, I do not like zigzag.

EVERYONE!!! .......welcome to a new week of trading.

I hope everyone noticed the Thread visitation report I made (post #658).
I think that shows we are off to a great start in creating a successful thread.

ALSO, I hope everyone paid special attention to my Account Statistical report from last Friday (see post #625).

I think this clearly demonstrates the power of this system and that it does work if you stay diligent to the rules and follow the money management rules outlined in post #1.

Just my one word regarding repainting cycle indicator. It's impossible to create non repainting indicator which will show extremes, because nobody know if its actual extreme or price will go further. If something like that will exist that would be Holy Grail so stop looking for it, just focus on system how it works itself, by the way system is just a small piece of all to have success. More important is managing a position and money management. So don't look for perfect system, because it don't exist, try to discipline yourself when taking entries and closing profits. That's the way to be profitable.

You are right, this system is two parts the technical (indicators and signals) and the second part ''YOU'' (Money Management, and Chart interpretation)

System is working well, but as i said before it depends who is using it, what kind of risk management is using, when realising profits, etc. Everyone have different predispositions and expectations, so the final effect always will be different - there are no two the same traders in the world which will have the same results. I'm trading using my system, mostly based on technical analyse - SR, FIBO, CANDLES -Price action, but i think that kind of systems like this is also very valuable, especially for beginners which don't understand fully technical analysis, and the can start trade using this system, trying to understand how market fluctuate.

After some time, and bigger experience you will notice, that you can trade using many of systems, but it not depend from the system, but from Your discretion and experience, your discipline, and good risk management. But i can say that this system looks quite clear, and that is very important, to have clearly defined rules of ENTRY, EXITS, and MM. This system got it all, so looks much better than many others that you can find on FF.

I am seeing that everyone is making a effort to contribute this past week and it is most appreciated and encouraged. KEEP IT UP.

However, I would like to make one point and hope everyone will keep this in mind.

Many people have been posting indicators in thinking it will improve the system. THIS IS SOMETHING I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE....but.....before posting an indication that you (think) will be better please please please......test it out on your own first for a few days before posting.

Then when you do post it, please include screenshots and explain how it has improved the system. That way we lower the number of indicators that are repeditive (because the current set of indicators already cover that component) or the indicator just clutters the screen more and ends up being useless. It also helps us to better evaluate the value of the indicator and understand the logic behind it. Just posting indicators will just confuse the thread.

So, please before you just post an indicator and say you think it will work. Test it out on your own and prove it to yourself then post your results after running it a few days as comparison.

Trust me if you do that little step it will really improve the thread.

I just noticed post number 625 when you proved you took a 3k account to 20k in 2 weeks on the 5 minute chart achieving a 60 percent win strike rate!!!!

I'm convinced from what I've seen already an larger win percentage will be achieved in the 30 min and higher timeframes,especially if you add on to what Poppy said about a trailing stop and reducing positions,riding out the whole move

Although not my cup of tea it's good to see this system is still so powerful on lower timeframes,cheers and happy trading

FINAL UPDATE:
Extreme Price Action reversal hits stoploss for 50 pip LOSS on order.

Evaluator, I identified the same trade as you did on the 5m chart and then went down to the 1M chart and waited for extreme spike, entry was 1.3351, certainly could be some merit in your idea.

Exactly! As I had stated in post #609; it might get you a few extra pips profit and a slightly better entry position.
