If your trading strategy is catching trends then I'm not one to argue however I would like other retail traders to be mindfull of volumes and institutional buying levels. It's helpfull for everyone if we are all trading with the big boys, rather than against them.

The reason I don't use moving averages or any other forms of indicators is because they skew what's really happening in the market.

Take note of high volumes and draw these levels onto the chart for future reference, because it gives you an idea of who's brought into the market...

We all have our own method some better than others, but if your making profits and it works why change.

Thanks FXMindset i do agree on this rather simple view,
that there is a lot of pressure on the Euro coming up not
only from a TA point of view.
Keeping an eye on the DAX due to correlation can help with
the risk sentiment and be of additional help for Monday.

To be honest, shouting out calls with no charts or analysis is not exactly clever. For sure it gets you noticed and then if you get it wrong you are left looking like an idiot.

We all get some calls wrong. No one is 100% right, but it was the manner that you did it in that showed your immaturity as a trader.

Next time, it would be helpful to have reasoning behind your call, even better with a chart to back it up as a picture tells a thousand words.

Hey all, If you looks at the monthly chart of the US dollar index the 4 months over the summer are very similar in appearance, and this preceded the major rise in USD, and massive fall in stocks etc.

As we can see in 2008 we broke out (very similar to this month) before having violent swings throughout october but ultimately ending higher. this is why I am reckoning that within the first two weeks of this month we will retest yearly lows under 1.3000, before rising rapidly to maybe 1.35/6 (perfect area for short IMHO), and then the real fireworks begin with a huge rise in USD. We should see mid-low 1.20's E/U, and then the volatility around new year time should coincide with the descending trendline.

Seems like 2008 all over again, good luck out there

Just flip that chart upside down and you got yourself a Euro Index.

Chicky's right.

I personally only exit at strategic-psycho-levels in a market, and same goes with entry.
Cashing out early, is the cause of people thinking they can do that again, and again, and that results to overtrading. See green candle, on your sell position, u close your short, and change to a buy. Thats wrong unless theres a clear/firm analysis from oneself that this is the right place to exit.

I believe that "dollar-stops" as in "my TP is based on what I WANT, SL is based on WHAT I WANT MARKET NOT TO HIT"

you'll never succeed using dollar-stops. You need to analyze based on market.

The forex market has the 'margin of profit or loss'. You need to get in between and make sure you maximize your profit, while minimizing your loss.

Interesting things you got there... but yea with my MA144 and MA169 on a H4 chart.. it takes more than big boy manipulation in a week to actually change the trend from a bull to a bear... soo yea but i have to disagree on someone who supports your theory, who literally said that MAs are useless?? think its dearkenny or some name like that.. MAs are what you can determine a trend with... and if thats useless i have a hard time imagining how hes gona make money... also ive been studying over 2 years using this strategy of mine, but i am infact more of a fundie trader than anything and i actually trade in REAL more on Psych Levels, time to time you can see a pair finding it difficult to break Large Even Numbers, like 1.3500 and 1.3400, everytime when the price tests these level, it could rebound or take ages to break through, reason for that is Big Boys are CONSTANTLY in the market, so heres the thing i got to disagree when you say BigBoys come and go, Big Boys are ALWAYS IN... their interest have always been Stop Hunting as its the most profitable for them... not only stop hunting retail traders, but also rival banks, and they got automated softwares to do that for them... ANYONE thinking Central Banks are trading shit manually must definitely be a noob by now... Central Banks run a lot of automated algorithms which interchanges behaviours time to time.. thats why we can never have a winning strategy... because we dont know whens the best to use what... even some interventions are done automated.. look at BOJ's intervention... only intervention thats not automated is the powerhouse SNB... SNB's intervention is Deadly and thats why i warned people in this thread back in August to stop shorting the USDCHF... none believed me... and they got screwed big time... cuz the thing shot up 1000 pip in a second, kept telling everyone SNB will intervene and they will NEVER TELL it... they just stick their hands in and intervene without notice... thats what you see in the EURCHF Pegging at 1.2...
SNB are well known intervention ninjas...
i know all too well about them because i actually ttraded fundies for 3 years, ive only recently tried to develop a consistent strategy trading High Volume Pairs like EURUSD,GBPUSD,USDCHF, EURCHF, GBPCHF, GBPJPY with only 1 single set of indicators, wihch is 4Moving averages and 1 Keltner Band.

Im also use 4 different moving average.

Im actually using EMA6, EMA14, EMA40 and EMA200. They are pretty usefull and work fine on 4 hour chart, daily and weekly chart
