Please could you expand this subject? I think hedge fund portfolio managers have full portfolios of bonds and are actually looking for a place to hide. Moreover, I think they wont do an asset swap within a day, it takes some time.

Hedge funds are not bond funds. They hold bonds, stocks, currencies, commodities etc.. whatever they think they can make a $ on.. Are supposed to be a hedge against a bear market.

They should be giving their customers at least a quarterly report that show what they are holding and won't want to show a higher % of any asset than they have told their customers they use so they will likely adjust to make things look nice, print the statements and go back to business as usual the next day.

If they are that heavy into an asset class they may have been swapping all week to adjust.
I don't care which way the market is going as long as it's going my way

something i've been seeing mentioned a lot in this thread that i haven't really understood is the term mofu which is apparently an idiom of this thread. after hours of research i think i get it now. i'll try explaining backwards. a lot of ppl have been asking "how does calculate mofu?" well first lets calculate some levels this wikipedia article is a good read, its about pivot points one of the earliest and simplest levels of s/r:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pivot_point

note well the last paragraph:

Many traders recognize the half-way levels between any of these levels as additional, but weaker resistance or support areas.[2] The half-way (middle) point between the pivot point and R1 is designated M+, between R1 and R2 is M++, and below the pivot point the middle points are labeled as M− and M−−.

gatorina inadvertently started it

...50% levels are a mofu...

you see many of the senior members that hang out in this thread actually like to pay more attention to midpoints between certain levels than the levels themselves. although pivot points are not the levels they're usually talking about. often it'll be a halfway point between a recent high or low and some Fibonacci level, or a halfway point between some s/r that they just eyeballed on a chart. in addition they'll often turn it into a small range i believe gatorina said somewhere +-6% (of what is unclear prob some avg daily range or prev days range or something)

and now for application, i put the dpp (daily pivot points) on my chart and eye balled some of my own mofus:

okay, here is something interesting on weekly, which i believe can impact euro in October.

  1. connect the lows of 2 weekly candles before the current week
  2. and connect the lows of current week and previous week with an imaginary trend line
  3. just imagine
  4. it sort of forms a curve

a break below current week low is needed to continue further south, if it does it will be till 2011 year low

also let me know what you make of the monthly candles, i see 600,000 sellers compared to just 400,000 buyers there

weekly, currently is 634,000 sellers compared to 306,000 buyers, clear selling strength.

since today is the last day of the month and a friday and next week we have NFP, some high volatility moves can follow

next week will be good for scalpers, both ways
