Just for thought.......If Greece gets bail out, or defaults and can continue in EZ, if I were PIIS, I would look for the same deal to settle my woes. Germany strong country, but I don't think their shoulders that large and stomach of German people will not allow that to happen.

If we get good US econ data, that should give the USD a bit of a boost so it would fade most of the euro gains.

Jst a note that in early 2010 while the sp500 was rallying, the euro was tanking.
Mmm--- I'm wondering if we might see further risk appetite... If you any of you guys want to give this trade a try, I think it should work out

If EURUSD drops until 11:30 EST, maybe to the support of the day... I would buy and look for 50% 30 pips (and move SL to BE) of profit and the other half up to you. I'm going to school now.. goodbye (Important, it must be after 11:30 EST)

Exactly, and furthermore it has been made very clear that any additional bailout funds have to first be approved by the Bundestag.

Following with interest, also looking for a return to the lows as euroland falls into the PIIG poo....
Short Euro and remaining that way. That's just the way it is !

Yes after Europe close.
It would probably be good for a scalp but I'm only selling into rallies.

actually euro is gaining a bit but USD is gaining more. Definitely risk-on today but not for the PIIGS... so far

the bulls are probably the cbanks, maybe the SNB. No trader is their right mind would want to buy euro right now. EZ has nothing to offer today.

Unrelated trade but just wanted to post anyway to make a point.

USDJPY is up.

That tells me that JPY safe haven is unwinding on risk appetite yet euro still struggling to make gains.

By the way I have a long position at 76.46. In the money. I don't need technicals for this one. This is pure fundamentals.

Seems like there is a lot of people that scale out of their trades. I never do that. I scale in instead. If I'm right then I scale into my target. If i'm wrong I cover.

By scaling in I can trade for the markets money. For practical reasons I usually scale in by setting buy/sell stop orders and activate an EA that automatically updates my stop loss. After I scale in I ALWAYS set SL to BE. Yes I do get stopped out sometimes but always to BE.

The general idea is as follows
I Sell at 1.37 and target 1.36. I want to trade 2 lots but enter on 0.5
If i get stopped out at -20 then I loose some but as much as I would have if i traded 2 lots.
Then I add at different levels (smaller and smaller lots up to where I want to be). Manually if I'm at the screen and buy setting pending orders if i'm not.

Can someone explain the idea with scaling out?

If...
It guarantees profit on trade.
Say you have overall expectation* of 50 pip move on 2 lot trade. You can remove one lot after say a 20-30 pip move, set SL at BE for remaining lot and set a trailing stop to pick up more if move goes further your favor. This also allows freedom to add to position because margin on first lot has been freed up.
This allows guaranteed profit and ability to scale in if you choose. Best of both worlds!
