I think its not the question what a indi you use as forth indicator: Supertrend, Trigerlines or HMA. But how sensitive you will adjust this one...you now, and this depends on your tradingstyle: aggressive or conservative

To a point I agree but, I still think there is room for improvement in the Trendline and Triggerline indicators where both agressive and conservative trader would agree this is a good entry point. Of course, the inputs can be modified to be more agressive (higher risk)

Again, I am looking for some marrage of the two to make it a general entry condition.:nerd:

Hi Guys,

On of the things I've been working on is what if I missed the initial signal, how, if possible, could I get into a trade with the trend.

I trade using Heiken Ashi candles plus in addition to the indicators Eval has made available with this system I also use MACD (on the bottom in the image) a Multi Time Frame Heiken Ashi showing 5M, 15M, 1H, 4H with a Stoch overlayed on it (on top in the image).

You will see in the image the Aqua vetical line marks the original signal, everything was blue, the stoch was crossed up and the MACD was weakening almost to the waterline (0 line).

Then we had 3 seperated retraces, I have marked 3 yellow vertical dotted lines where one could get in or back into the trade, everything was blue, the Stoch was crossed up or just about to and MACD was weakening or above the waterline. What I'm looking for as no 1 priority is everything to be either blue or red before I get into a trade if I've missed the initial signal.

Great writeup! Those are all valid entry points if you miss initial....Just be prepared to move quickly if the climate changes. It is unknown how long a trend will last so make sure you have tight stops and are practicing moneymanagement that will accomodate your new entry.

Keep up the good work. This is great example!

P.S. can you post the Heiken Ashi candles indicator you are using please let us know the input setting you are using plus what are your inputs for MACD. (Screenshots would be best)

I've just added the trigger lines and interesting they showed buy signals at the same place as the yellow dotted lines in my above image.

Here is an excellent example of why I am hesitant to use Triggerline and prefer to stay with the original Trendline. As you will see by the conditions you stated for Triggerline to replace Trendline it gave a false SELL signal when Trendline remained BLUE the entire movement. Also, I watched in amazement as 4 complete candlesticks of Triggerline REPAINT!. I have not seen Trendline repaint.

In this instant you would have hit your 50pip stoploss because it never dropped the 30pip change point. I think we need to play with the setting some and determine a better input setting. 15/15 is too sensitive in my opinion and it makes me nervous.

Opinions and input are most appreciated.

P.S. Please do not misunderstand. I like Triggerline and I think it has great potential but I think we need to work on it.:nerd:

MACD is just standard settings, 12, 26, 9 - I've also uploaded as I've slightly edited to take the text off it.

SELL SIGNAL all 4 indicators

SELL order initiated @1.36361 50 pip stoploss using Exit Strategy (2)

UPDATE:
30 pip positive reached. Per Order Account Balance Protection rule Stoploss move to 3 pip in front of order.

UPDATE2:
Extreme Spike signal recorded. Per Exit Strategy (2) 1/2 order closed @1.36278. 2/2 or order will look to Trendline colour change for exit signal.

FINAL UPDATE;
Price action spike hits stop loss on 2/2. Closed at 1.36361 with 3 pip profit.

we shall see if the system can hold up to this news event. i hope it does not hit 50 pip stoploss. i think it will be dollar bullish anyway. (i.e. bad news)

NEWS EVENT.. FYI

USD Durable Goods Orders (AUG) printed at -0.1% versus expected -0.2%, previously revised 4.1%.

USD Durables Ex Transportation (AUG) prints at -0.1% versus -0.2% predicted, previously revised 0.7%

US Economy continues to contract but not as bad as expected. Dollar should get a small pop as this news is Dollar bullish.

presonaly i woodynt use triggerlines in this system.
Yes it gives faster signals but will often get you in bad treds. The trendline is slower but more reliable.

Got an idea how to improve the cycele indi.

I finally went and did it made my own hybrid all I added was bob's stoch macd thingy,sweet spots,sixths 10.0,tms osc-histo,MBFX timing,HTID,and absolute strength!:nerd:,looks to give strong signals on 4hr chart
