Any pair that moves H4 and Day - I do not trade usd/jpy, eur/gbp, aud/nzd and currently no chf pairs until SNB sorts themselves out

Juliant, sorry to be there bearer of bad news but you need to re read the thread. this was discussed before hand, it is possible to have a TDI cross on a first candle colour change. its important to remember that the TDI is calculated from regular price candles not the Synergy APB candles so they act independantly of each other.

i was involved in the discussion so if you go through my posts you should find it easily.

FXsurf and james273 i suggest you read the discussion too, i cant say i agree with your advice on this matter.

What is...

I will look at your posts today, thanks in advance.

I know everyone is different but just wondering what a realistic expectation is trading the 1 hr charts during the london session. Would 25 pips a day be a realistic expectation. Could people trading live accounts give me what they've done over a period of a few months or more.

Its really hard to answer that question, so many variables, assuming your trading major crosses, i would say the average SL is around 40 pips, so working on a minimum r;r of 1:1 i would say 40 pips per trade is good. whether or not you get a good trade everyday is another question.

I did have, but I got stopped out at BE. I always set a Breakeven point on the 1hr trades because they will often reverse after the London open. If not, great I'm in the pips.

I also got stopped out on the GU trade, but I'm back in again on the 4hr cross. SL at the previous high.

There are some of us here who just want to post trades and learn from each other. I'm afraid there are others who just like to argue and criticize other peoples trades, but strangely seem unable to post any of their own trades.
I haven't been here long and I hope to be sticking around.
Anyway I went long on E/U today and although was up 40 pips at one stage I closed out for 10 pips when the TDI went flat.Looks like I should have stuck with it a while longer though. Should have trusted the HA candles more I think. Still it's a learning process....

yes...let's stick on practice
Long on GJ just now... still on +20 pips...will see how it ends.

Per britpip7 - " currently no chf pairs until SNB sorts themselves out"
I should have taken note - just lost 10 pips on that pr, a sudden hook of the tdi got me out.

edit: should have said $/chf on 15M TF

Backtesting is a key component of effective trading-system development. It is accomplished by reconstructing, with historical data, trades that would have occurred in the past using rules defined by a given strategy. The result offers statistics that can be used to gauge the effectiveness of the strategy. Using this data, traders can optimize and improve their strategies, find any technical or theoretical flaws, and gain confidence in their strategy before applying it to the real markets. The underlying theory is that any strategy that worked well in the past is likely to work well in the future, and conversely, any strategy that performed poorly in the past is likely to perform poorly in the future.

Backtesting is one of the most important aspects of developing a trading system. If created and interpreted properly, it can help traders optimize and improve their strategies, find any technical or theoretical flaws, as well as gain confidence in their strategy before applying it to the real world markets.

Entered short the EUR/USD on the London (first red candle) and quickly exited on the first blue to appear two candles later for a small loss.
Then went long at that second blue candle that broke through the 5MA for some fast pips off the candles to follow. I'm out now.
Good post Erebus. Backtesting also shows that every day is different. Showed me that you never know what you'll get.
