Hi Evaluator

I got this trade too so thats great Ive got one succes with this method first time of using it...I think my MTEI Supertrend is slightly behind yours by a couple of candles..

Great Question!

I practice a very conservative MoneyManagement System. Once I place an order it has a 50pip stoploss. However, once the pip count exceeds 30pips positive I move the stoploss to 3pips in front of the order to protect from having any loss on the trade.

Yes, in whipsaw action I get stopped out more but I usually means the market is not ready to move in the direction of my order and I wait on new pricing action that normally mean my second order is at a better price than the first because the market was simply not ready.

Exit Strategy. The exit strategy is simple. WHen the Cycle indicator showas and extreme spike (spike with color) I exit the trade at the close of that candlestick. HOWEVER, if I feel the market forces are moving strongly in one direction I change the strategy and let the trendline colour change be my guide. So, in those instances when the trendline changed colour against my order I exit on the close of that corresponding candlestick.

Money Management:
This plays hand in hand with my entry exit strategy. Basically, I have a 10 to 1 ratio rule that I employ with all my trading. Here is how it works.
I look at my account balance and for every 1K in my account equals to 0.10 lot size of available trade size.

So if I had 5k in my account the maximum number of mini lots I would use for trading would be 0.50 total. This can be done in any combination you wish.

5K equals 0.50 total lots
(any combination)
(5) 0.10 lots....
(2) 0.10 lots and (1) 0.30lots....
(2)0.20 lots and (1) 0.10 lot

Why do this? It will help you to preserve your account incase of loss and provide you with the comfort to know that even though you may take a StopLoss hit you will not be over leverages and loose your whole account.

But the level of risk you wish to use is simply up to you. That is just the way I play at forex because it make me less nervous and I am more inclined to jump into an order then hesitate and loose position when the strategy tells me to jump.

We had that discussion a few pages back on why all our charts do not line up exactly and it was discovered that it was due to the brokers you are using. Someone said that some brokers have a slight delay because of positioning in the exhanges and bandwidth issues of the broker. Someone else indicated it was because some brokers wanted a few miliseconds infront of their client. (in my opinion that is cheating and dishonest)

So, while they may not exactly line up the same principles of this strategy will help you to trade better and more consistant; which is the key to winning!

Thanks for the comment but I would not go that far.

This system is a total strategy which consist of the automated (the charts and indicators) and the human (proper money management, trading consistancy, and proper chart interpretation) it is a total package.

If you can do that.....you will trade better...have more confidence....and feel better about your trading abilities.

The below graph is an excellent example of a double down or market re-entry situation. In this instance you would have entered the market (SELL) and market would dropped down ove 30 pips you could use my moneymanagement method but you would have been stopped out with 3 pip profit but...the market gives you another opportinity to reenter or wait for next opportunity.

If you did not move original stoploss then you have a moment where, if you are a gambler, to ''double down'' and take a second order (SELL) in the market.

In this instance because I play some what conservative I was stopped out and will reenter with 50 pip stoploss because I believe the market is headed down due to all 4 indicators are again pointing down.

UPDATE:
30pip positive movement recorded. Stoploss moved to 3 pips infront of order.

UPDATE2:
Extreme Bottom Spike recorded on order. Normally close order at 1.34661 but since it is Friday and I feel adventurous....I will let trendline be my guide and let it run...... RUN FORREST RUN!!!

FINAL UPDATE:
Extreme reversal price action hit my Stoploss for 3 pip profit a second time. Oh well, took a chance and lost out .....better luck nexttime....but hey...still have 3 more pips profit than before.

for how many pairs do you use your strategy? do you have testing this one on higher timeframes? Do you exit only on extreme spike or have you a strong TP?

As to lots...I use a moneymanagement system or 10 to 1 ratio and just trade 1 order at a time. The size of the lot depends on my account balance at the time.

I started this thread and opened a demo account on 16 September 2011 with 3k so I was trading (1) 0.30 sized lot. Now I am up to 10K and trade (1)1.0 size lot. So, I only trade one at a time. I know I am slow...but I try to be consistant.

This is an interesting system.....well done Evaluator. I use a different method altogether for my trading, but I like to see these new methods as they develop.

May I add my 5c?

For me (see the screenshot) I would ditch the bollinger bands......for no other reason other than I don't like them.....but that's just me. The other thing I have done is to substitute the Supertrend indi for the HMA indi....(although I have both on the attached screenshot for comparison reasons). I like the HMA because it gets you into the trade a bit earlier and gets you out a bit earlier too.....in *some* instances. At the very least, it never seems to perform worse that Supertrend, and in many cases it performs better.

If anyone is interested in HMA, and if it's ok with Evaluator, I can attach the indi and let you know the settings.

I have 2 HMA indicators but neither of them do an arch like the one in your screenshot.

I have no ego here...I made this thread as I said in post #1 to help develop this system and I am looking for input from everyone to help fine tune it and make it perfect.

I am still looking for the ''gotcha'' moment when the system breaks down but ever since I got my initial setting and combinations right;

(man.... it too alot of testing and time to get the combinations right )

it has held up in just about all market conditions from earthquakes to central bank events and it has put me on the right side of the trade each time.

SO...fire away..post the indicator and sceen shots and lets take a look at what you got. I am interested.

Edit: I should add that these settings seem to be fine for M5 and M15 charts, but a lower Period value would be needed if you were to go to H1 (or larger) charts.

Apears Ok RJ - and doesn't provide appreciably more false entries. Earlier entry means less chance of being shaken out at BE.

Thanks for your indi, seems indeed HMA make a signal a bit earlier.
For H1, a period of 40 looks good.

Btw, I change the "black" color to none to have a better view.
