Macroeconomic meaning the global picture and make a judgement in my head that although this guy is screaming 1.40 its not likely and will go lower. And unless decisive action is taken my interpretation it is that over a period of time it will still go lower than what the price is now. I have a short position since 1.3765 but I don't day trade or scalp trade forex.

It was also a random trade the price wasn't do to any specific technical analysis. I just thought shit is going down, i'm also long FAZ, SDS and SH - ultrashorts financial and S&P

I'm all for wedges and pullbacks, and I think that this is what we're looking at now.... For me it's not if but when the downward trend resumes, and whether I have the balls (and equity) to take a long extended countertrend correction, if this one doesn't end soon (and goes higher, against me). I think you're right - this is a second wave correction leading into a third wave, of a third wave, of a fifth wave (because the last couple of weeks were an extended fourth wave, after the big downward thrusts of early Sept (waves 1 & 3) So, if we're coming into the third of third of the fifth wave, then just around the corner is a run that will make yesterday look like mere foreplay. The question is: how "long" is this corner?!

Next move, I couldn't say...

I think this is a bull flag near the end of a bear flag... bull flag for the last 2 hours, bear flag for the last 12 or so.... so it might pop up a bit, finish the countertrend rally, then change direction and start falling hard... I hope!

Otherwise I'm out of luck....

Anyways, that's how I like to trade... read the waves and be ready for the next Big move, rather than the next move. I tend to give back money when I try to work the countertrends, but do well when I stick with the main flow of action.

The trick for me will be to catch this coming downtrend, ride it out in the direction of 1.3000, and then get the heck out once that fifth wave is over and stay out of the markets for a while to see what happens (instead of giving $ back to the dragon!)

@halibut: you and the dragon. im not kidding, its a pattern. its similar to a double bottom, with extended bottoms, and a small pennant like structure, then shoot up.

hi everyone, heres the outlook on dow jones. same deal, wedge.

oil is stagnant like a river in a desert, big move soon, gold consolidate for a while..

big moves in everything.

If this one goes against me, ill just ride gold and the rest. rinse and repeat.

no. chart patterns i identify by eye and hand. just drawing triangles all over the place. you'll get used to the wedges thing when you start spotting them.

Awesome chart. That's what I've been seeing -- a recurrence of the larger correction pattern... it's still hovering around the price I sold at, so I'm going to get back to my other line of work and check back in a few hours...

We do have visited one of our major re-action level zones and still we are traveling within our "non-grafical" channel which is created by a pure math based detection system (!) osc. chan. sys. and in this case it is applied with netdania chart station and our proprietary software ...

Still we are in a situation ... which is defined by a kind of mild counter-trend rally attempts towards above 1.3563 - 1.3576 or even beyond 1.3582 - 1.3601 in case of an extention ...

On the downside the market is still vulnerable for declines ... but major support sits near 1.3360 zone in case of a re-test of our "end of wave projection key-point" area ... as shown in ZigZag levels survey ...

Morning ,no good news , last night the short tp not hit by a pip in spread perhaps nor activate the pending long . anyway short hit sl at be though . looking the pa . bear to turn into bull with extra strength , less correction !!
sky falling effects now , lets see if minimum or full .
