are you sure this is a good risk/profit strategy?? if you do close manually at 3660 that means you risk 80 pips to earn 40 pips.

3782 looks like a good poddibility. maybe a dip to the 70-80 area then back up. if no dip then above the upper trendline

Hi,

this is an institutional lesson, so try to understand it very well.

On August 30, the EU starting trending down from 1.45, very, very fast. This because some BIG BOYS agreed on this. The euro on Sept 12 reached 1.36. There are 900 pips on the table = trillion of dollars changed the hands, from stupid retailer traders to smarter institutional traders. Now they want to liquidate their investment, so they want to close (buy) their sells. If they find exact the same trillion on the table the euro will be back to 1.45. Usually the institutional trader at the 1 target will close 1/3 = 33% of the trade, sometime the 50%. This number are the 61% and 50% retracement that you will see on the chart. Looking at this big move I suppose they will close 50% of their position, so the market will retrace 450pips. So 1.36 + 450 = 1.4050

The market is psychology, not geometry, not fibonacci. When you are in a good trade and you see good money, 99% of the time you close 50% and put the rest at BE. The same for institutional traders. The difference is that they drive the market, we have only to follow them, not trying to drive it.

NOW THE PROBLEM

99% of retail traders, at the morning don't start from weekly chart, than daily chart to see the MAIN trend, NO they start 1 minute chart. They have poor money management, so they don't have enough fuel to go to the target, they know the target but 99% of the time they are stopped out, margin call and so on. To trade and make profit in trading, especially now with this volatility, you need more, MORE capital, less, LESS leverage.

Today you need to account even 1000 pips DD. With 0.1 (MT4 pos), it will be $1000,00 DD, so you need at least $50.000 account to enter now the market with this volatility. The move from Aug 30 to Sept 9, is just a swing, of 900 pips but just a swing nothing more, no a down trend. Trends are measured in weekly and monthly, we are now at 50% of the main trend started Jan 06 (1.28) to May 5 (1.48) -> 1.48-1.28 = 2000 pips, we retraced 1000, so is 50%, remember 50%, so this market usually retrace big moves at 50%.

Still not in a trade this evening , now seeing lower limit broken & hence top should be limited or about to fail run further up or gap filling below 3751, 3692/77 may bounce to take a bull action as of last try 3751 break, 3780 gap filling but again expanding triangle as a bear & go around present top 3734 will do, may try short , waiting .

but I trying to build long position incase monthly and weekly patterns fruit, my bias for this turd has always been short, always will be, but I trying long for now, time will tell, like I said last post if ladies look like they going to roll over, I back to my beloved "bears", 2nd reason is not if but when yoda intervene all ladies will be skyrockets, I want my seat

Seller is fight hard wants this level too, is piss me off, have got 2 of my trades already, so far no red pips, but is hard work, bloody bear bars quite big keep get me

Maybe week open will hold her up for now, or I going to bed

your conclusion is only correct if every retail trader would trade like institutional traders...but this simple isnt correct. The big boys who caused this drop on 30 august are positional traders and many retail traders are scalper or at least they trade in a shorter tf than the big boys are doing - and as a short time trader you dont need so much money, of course its better if you have it but it isnt so easy to have such a trading acc...

I mean look at the way, is north, just drive north, NEVER south, instead I see so many scalpers here trading south, so they LOST.

why not take pips both ways ? there is both a buy and a sell button. take as much as you can safely but be impeccable at charting
